NEdude, That one gets me to. Tried a while back for foreign carriers, and the letter explained it clearly. No Americans! I also inderstand that even the European carriers that use American CFI talent in Goodyear will not consider an American pilot.

You will make WAY more money if you get a flying job in Africa or Asia.

You might need to pay for a B737 or A320 type rating.
Being an airline pilot in the US ain't like it used to be.

Email the people over at Parc or Rishworthaviation .

Hi All,

Thank you for the advice offered in this thread - it has been good to hear other people's points of view, and I appreciate the time taken by all in responding, in particular Check Airman via PM - thank you.

I suppose my final request would be to ask if anyone would mind offering some advice/ guidance (via a PM) as to which US flight training institutions might be worth contacting initially (one of my problems is that I am completely out of the game in terms of picking up 'word of mouth', and have few US based contacts generally). Any quick tips in regard to places to try (and perhaps places to avoid..) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all again.

You'd eventually want to get into airlines you said....

A friend of mine worked as a CFI for a school in the ME. Eventually that served him as a ticket in an airline flying a jet. Way off topic but perhaps something you could consider considering thr job scene in UK/US...
