Part 121 PIC hours requirements
Hello all,
?Hope everyone is having a fabulous week.
I just recently moved back to USA after being laid off from my previous job in middle-east. I hold FAA ATPL with B737 PIC type on it without any limitation with 6000 hours on jet( NO USA flying experience). I want to know is there any way we can get a waiver from FAA regarding the 1000 hours requirement on PART 121 for upgrade? my previous airline was a scheduled airline operating all over the world. any help would be highly appreciated..
Thank you

Unfortunately there is no way around getting 1000 hours 121 as an FO before upgrading. I came with 11K PIC on B737 and still watch everyone from the right seat. So plan on at least 2 years in the right seat unless you want to fly for a regional. Anyways, if you land a job with a major airline you have to start as an FO anyways. Usually the few jobs that offer DEC are not worth it compared to a job at a major/legacy airline. Good luck!
