3 killed in PA-31 crash in Texas

The plane is cleared for takeoff on 18R at about 5:18 into this liveatc.net clip:

The tower reports smoke on the left side, N82605 says they are returning but need no assistance, tower clears them to land on 18L. Then calls to the fire crew after the crash which appears to be on airport property.
These little planes are deadly.
I believe the last passenger fatality in a scheduled U.S. airline crash was in the BUF turboprop commuter mishap in 2009.
