Thanks for the answers guys, but I can guaranty that in some of the FAA questions (with the info and figures you are allowed to watch) there is no way you may find the mag variation! Not on the chart (you have just a small portion of it) and not even in the Airport facilities. I spent hours on them with a magnify glass and nothing. I hate to memorize answers but I dont see any other way....

Can you post an example of a question in which you need to know the magnetic variation and it is not available in the materials provided? It seems odd (although not impossible) that a test question would not provide a piece of information essential to finding the answer. It's been a while since I looked at FAA ATP questions, but as I recall, for the flight planning questions there were a number of sources of information provided for each question, and you had to look in all of them to collect all the info you needed. It may be that you're not seeing the reference you need, or it may be that the refrence is provided on the FAA exam, but that the Dauntless course doesn't give you all the references the FAA gives you.

Actually people attach pictures all the time but you don't need to, you could simply paste the question itself and anyone with access to an ATP course can look it up in the bank.
