Florida flying - airplane rental

Hi everyone.

I decided to build my flying time in USA. I choose a Florida due to it climate. I will move there in a three month from now. My questions are about aircraft rental organisation which are open for international guy. Do you recommended any school there? Maybe better idea is to rent a aircraft from private person? What do you think about this?

I did my time building in Florida.

There are a lot of positive sides , like you don't pay any charge in order to land in most of florida airports , while in Europe you need in most cases to pay a fee.

FBO in the U.S. give you a good amount of services free of charge , and sometime (like in the Tampa FBO) a cabrio mustang!

Plus you don't have to send a flight plan if you don't want in case of a VFR flight.

Most schools like flight safety , pan am , aerosim , naples air center , EFT , Phoenix east and so on... will not allow you to take the plane whenever you want.

You must follow a strict schedule , which based on the number of customer plane availability and maintenance , could most likely raise some delay problem (rent , food , fuel , and visa expiration).

Plus you have to stay very careful with the prices they declare , in most cases you will find some very very cheap price , but at the end you will pay more and have a total disaster of service and planes. BEWARE

Some classic excuses are: You will have to pay more because the prices were based on the fuel cost of 6 months ago , or the plane cost now are different , or the taxes were not included (is legal in florida to do so) , or they force you to stay in their houses which are super expensive so they can compensate with the low cost they told you at the beginning, and so on...

I was almost deciding to go to a private , but... a private is a private.Of course you get the plane at lower rate(MAYBE)... but what if you plan your 100 hours and then something happen and he tell you can't anymore?

What if he simply decide to stop for a while? what about the maintenance? I mean... there is no contract covering you and what are you paying for...

I found The right academy instead , it took me a while but at the end I found some honest personnel and good planes with a contract. No surprises , no overcharges , no restriction on scheduling the planes ( I was departing even at night , they gave me the keys of the plane) no problems at all.

I kept my plane in miami for 3 days without telling them in advance , no problem and no charges!

You just wake up , jump up in your mustang , go to the airport and fly away.

I will send you the link of this school in pvt , but anyway before you apply to any academy , my best advice is : make sure they are honest! how? ask to the students that have been there already. Not to only one , but as many as possible.

This is the best way to understand if the academy is reliable or not.

Best of luck!

Thank you for replay.

It seems reliable what you wrote. Problem will be with contact to students of the academy. I am from Poland so due to this I need visa. Thinking about two options. First search for academy because they can provide me a visa for course. Second one is to go to US with tourist visa and then searching for school. Problem with second option is that border guard after comming can allow me to stay from 1 day to 6 months and it is full lottery.

Ok so, Black Eagle Flight Training Group, sorry White Wing for academy verification? Anyone heard something about them?
