FAA ATP Examiner

Hello everybody,

I am lookink for a FAA examiner who would be willing to take the FAA ATP check ride in a B 737 SIM. I don't need the type rating, just the ATP ticket, since adding the type will cost around 9000$. Why would I do that? I have been flying the NG for more then then 10 years on my EASA license, so taking the exam on my type would take much less effort and I don't necessarily need the rating at this time.
If anybody knows an individual who could be of help please let me know, or PM me.

Thanks guys.

The only examiners you could use would be those affiliated with the simulator company AFAIK - trained on, say, Pan Am's sims. and programs. As I understand things you've also got to be working a part 142 approved program; you can't just grab a sim. and do a part 61 ride, like you can with, say, a Seminole. Most have a "quickie add-on experienced pilot program", but it'll be a couple of training sessions and some ground school.

I'm also clueless on how you take an ATP ride in a B737 sim. without adding a type rating; perhaps I'm missing something. Do you already have the type on a commercial license? I see you have an EASA license.

I'd call Higher Power or Pan Am and ask them.

There are regular FAA Inspectors, Designated Examiners and Type Rating Evaluators. DEs (rent-a-Feds) can only conduct rides in aircraft listed on their paperwork. So they may be able to give an ATP-MEL but only in PA-34s and CE-303s and not BE-58s and CE-310s. What ever is on their paperwork. I was looking several years ago and there was only one DE who had 737 on their paperwork.

TREs as Rotorhead points out are tied to their program. A Pan Am 737 TRE couldn't just show up at a sim not listed in Pan Am's OPS SPECs and give a ride to someone who had not gone through Pan Am's program.

As for doing the ride in an aircraft that requires a type without doing the type, there's not even guidance for that. You have to have an oral exam on the aircraft covering systems, limitations and performance, PA-34 or B-744. So you're doing the type checkride, you may as well get the rating.

Thanks Marker and Rotorhead for your answers. That sounds logical, I might have to go back on a piston twin and do some training there. Anyhow, thanks for giving me insight into the subject.

Best regards

FAA ATPL FOR FOREIGN PILOTS

[FONT="Georgia"]Please I would appreciate if someone can help me on this.

I have an Indian ATPL with Boeing 737 NG endorsement. My total time on the plane is more than 6000.

I would like to do the FAA ATPL with Boeing endorsement.

What are the new rules with regards to the same. I was in touch with Pan Am Academy in florida and High Power in Dallas, but nobody is sure about anything.

Embry Riddle does not reply.

I have a FAA CPL with multi engine and instrument, No Boeing Rating.

Can Someone please guide me with step by step procedure for the same.

Also I would appreciate if someone can provide me with an email address of any person that I can contact for information.

Any school that is doing the course.

Really appreciate.

Thanks a ton!!
God Bless!!!
