The real change from the FAA will come when an aircraft or helicopter hits a drone and crashes with multiple fatalities. In my line of work we're seeing these quadcopters being used more and more by Joe Nobody and taking them up where helos and light aircraft operate. Mark my words- there will be a collision with a manned aircraft. Then and only then will the FAA really get on the ball here; when there is a smoking crater and fatalities.
