Mystery plane discovered in US lake

A mystery plane discovered at the bottom of a US lake has residents baffled as to where it came from as no record exists of its crashing in the area.
The plane was originally spotted in Lake Norman, North Carolina, by divers who were searching for a drowning victim and subsequent sonar images
clearly show a plane in the lake, CNN reports.
"When you see it it stands out, you know exactly what it is," Battalion Chief Kent Davis of the Charlotte Fire Department said.
The plane is currently lying 100 feet below the surface and its doors cannot be opened, but the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) hasn't
yet disclosed if the plane will be raised.

When the search for Steve Fossett was on in earnest, 8 plane wrecks were found that were previously unknown, and previously undiscovered - and they're still unidentified!

Mystery pilots prolly still in it.

Should be raised to ID the deceased, at least for benefit of any relatives.

It would appear the mystery is solved. In this article a lady says it might be her plane that sunk over 30 years ago after flight instructors forgot to put the gear up during a landing on the water.
