Delta LAX-SLC turnaround due to smoke

Two pax I know on a Delta fight yesterday a.m. bound for SLC from LAX report that the aircraft was forced to return to LAX after 15 minutes in the air due to smoke in the cockpit/cabin. Sorry, no flight no. or type at this time. Anyone else here of this?

More info on flight

It was Delta Air Lines # 4690 Operated by: Skywest DBA Delta Connection, departing LAX 7:43 a.m. 21 October.
Just curious what happened.

Something happened to it, although there's nothing on the FAA site about it.

FlightAware > SkyWest Airlines #4690 > 21-Oct-2010 > KLAX-KSLC

Something happened; my two SLF friends reported they were turned around after the skipper reported smoke in the cockpit. The incident aircraft was met with a fire truck.
