Their headquarters address is an apartment in Rego Park. You can get a good Knish there, though.

Are they actually going to call their frequent flyer program "Freeloaders?"

Baltia came to us last year to assist in locating a 742/3 for their intended New York to St. Petersburg. Problem was that they wanted everything on the cheap. The talk was big but we withdrew after a short period, realizing that we were wasting our time. They stated that they could not afford a 744 at the time and our contention was the available classics were extremely high time a/c, many of them which would have required major dollars for heavy maintenance.

For the first year, they were talking two trips per week using just one a/c and that is where we left them.

Baltia/Logistic

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Copied from AviTrader this week:

» Baltia Air Lines signs engine leasing agreement

Baltia Air Lines has signed an engine lease agreement with Logistic Air. Baltia's executive vice president Mr. Russell Thal stated, "The power-by-the-hour engine lease agreement is the most economical way for a start-up carrier to operate its aircraft and reduces its expenditures and risks. The agreement with Logistic Air includes support."

This sounds like a marriage made in heaven!

From what I hear they bought an ex American International Airways 747-200 thats been sitting in the desert for many years. They are trying to buy a second. They have office space in Term 4 at JFK.
If they get off the ground I give it about 6 months to a year before the doors are closed... For a company like this they have to plan to fill that -200 on almost every trip to keep the company going... they dont have much money backing them up thats why they couldnt get a -400.
Delta or Aeroflot or both will add more Russia flights and that will be the end.
