Advice needed
Iīm German-Spanish and I love the United States. So it suggests itself to work there as a pilot. Unfortunately the US aviation industry is in a deep crisis and there are even furloughed pilots. Thatīs why Iīm asking me if in a few years - about 3 - there will be any jobs openings foreighn pilots in the US, who want to spend there flight training there, because some people see them as somebody who takes local people the jobs away. What would you advise me to do? And please explain me the way - if you have a Green Card yet - how to become US pilot. What flying schools have a great reputation, how about the costs and do you have to work first for a Commuter airline?

Of course you can get your training done in the USA...
But even if the economy goes great in 3 years - don't hold your breath.
The USA has not given a visa for pilots since 1970.

I did that in the 1960s... But even I left after 1991 when things got bad.
You love USA - ok - but it is not a job paradise in aviation/airlines.
There are many unemployed pilots in USA.
They would never change their visa laws with that situation.
I love USA too and still visit for shopping - prices are low...

You must be a USA citizen or hold a "Green Card" beforehand.
Some get married to get a Green Card - then get ruined for divorce settlements.
To get a visa, you cannot qualify as a pilot.
They offer visas for other qualifications i.e. medical, or science research.

Try Canada - they are open to immigration.
Some South American nations are more lenient too for visas.

You said that they donīt give visas to pilots, but that wouldnīt matter, because in case I get a Green Card through the diversity lottery. Of course, I need luck thatīs clear.
