Post Incident at Logan International last Thursday evening?

<img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Does anyone know why a Northwest Airlines DC10 was parked on a runway surrounded by police cars and fire trucks last Thursday evening (about 20:00 EST)?

It appeared from the terminal (about a half mile distant) that passengers were disembarked into "people movers" on the runway and brought back to the terminal with a police escort. Next, the aircraft was emptied of its cargo containers (also on the runway) under the glare of temporary spotlights.

As we taxied out for takeoff I noticed that the cargo containers were being opened and examined by emergency services.

Anyone out there know any details?

Thanks,. .Canuck Frequent Flyer
