GA Airport close to Manhattan?

Can anyone please advise the best general aviation airport which operates all-weather, has reasonable to low hangar and other airport charges and also is in close proximity to downtown Manhattan? I thought about Teterboro but it sounds like they're trying to squeeze piston lighties out of there. Thanks.

Or White plains (KHPN) north of the city. Just don't expect to find low airport costs at a location convenient to NYC. It's all relative to the rather impressive cost of most things in the area. On the west side of the river, there's Stewart if you don't mind a drive up the 87. Good luck with your search.

Best regards,

Try Linden, New Jersey (KLDJ). I believe it is one of the closest GA airports to NYC (or, at least it's one of the closest in NJ).

Also in NJ, you could look at Morristown Muni (KMMU), Essex County (KCDW), or perhaps Central Jersey Regional (no ICAO identifier, only FAA identifier 47N).

There are several other airports in Northern NJ. One or more may suit your needs.

Have you looked at www.airnav.com?

and then Westchester http://www.westchestergov.com/airport/

GA near NYC

Best site for general info is airnav.com.
I'm pretty familar with the Jersey side of things and supply is tight.
If you are JFK based Long Island is the place to look but I suspect the situtaion is the same as New Jersey.
Getting a hangar anywhere around here is very difficult. Waiting lists are really non existent. Seems you just have to luck into one.
Princeton had a few some time back.
Teterboro and MMU I would not bother with and CDW you'd need to be really lucky. (Last I heard a hangar at CDW was $800 per month) I do know MMU is very expensive for GA
Sussex in northern new jersey might have some but it is quite far and fairly primitive.
Linden would be nice but I'm again I'd be suprised if anything was available.
Trenton - TTN or Allentown ABE would be good places to look - ILS's and not swamped with commercail or corporate traffic.
I'd just phone around and keep asking - you might just get lucky.

Good luck -
