Need FBI Criminal Background Check Info

Hey guys, I've recently moved back to Australia and since most my job experience and residence has been in the U.S., I am required to get an FBI criminal background check for my FBO job. I am having the hardest time finding out how to go about that! The U.S. Embassy was no help and the FBI webpage is no better.

Background checks are conducted by each state's Department of Justice. Try searching "Department of Justice background checks", then narrow down to your state of residence from there. I only have the website for Michigan, sorry.

It'll cost ya $18.00 U.S. & take 6-8 weeks.

Sent mine in about 10 weeks ago and haven't gotten a reply yet, I hope thats a good sign.

Forgot to mention, You'll have to call the Australian Federal Police and request the form for the fingerprints be sent to you. Then you'll have to take that paper to the local cop shop and get printed. That'll cost ya another $22.00.

Perfect. Done, done, and sent it off today. I rang the FBI about the fingerprints and they said I could just get them done on the local Po-Po's fingerprint sheet. Cost me $40 and just happy 'cause it's off and in the mail. Thanks!
