popay, not sure if you have posted here by mistake, but assuming you mean the Irish operator I would suggest posting somewhere more relevant.

Cheerio

ADRH,
Ryan International airlines, is a supplemental carrier in the US, flying 727's 737's 757's, hell it changes yearly, but anyway, they are a scumbag operator. Not the same Ryan in Ireland! although i hear they are scumbags too!

We are not doing freight anymore, our current fleet consists of
MD80's, 737-200's, 737-800's, A320's and the B757. About a year ago Ryan was bought by Rubloff.

During this past winter we were using Airbuses from Iberoworld, -800's from Futura and 3 757 from Thomas Cook.

Personally, I have work for better carriers did I said furloughed? :-) But, Ryan is not as bad as many people may think.

Now that half of the fleet is back in Europe some of the pilots are or will be working in Dublin, Spain or the UK.

Hope this help

Heh LittleFolker,
I was with them doing Sporthawk charters until they lost the postal contract. Great job ( Sporthawk) if your not building hours. Are they NOT doing it any longer?. I'd heard they had 6 or more 72's for Sporthawk. Thanx

LittleFokker,
Nice to hear from someone from the company again. I was actually one of the European guys flying the airbuses out of Minneapolis St.Paul. We brought 8 planes from Germany to the States and stayed the over a season in the States. Well was a great time.
How is actually Jogi doing? Is he still there? I have heard the rumours you going to take 2 planes from Germany this year as well?
Thanks and take care.

Hello Fesmokie!

Last I heard we were trying to use one of the MD80's on some sort of VIP configuration for a sporthawk kind of contract. But that was a couple of months ago, so I am not quite sure if the plan is still on. For good or for bad I have not been here long enough to fly either the postal or the 727 charters but the people keep talking about how nice they were.

Where are you now?

Popay,

How are you? I am glad you have a good time!! I was in MSP last winter doing initial training and -20F was way too cold for me!!!Somehow we always find a way to get into Old Chicago to keep ourself warm.

Are you with Aero Lloyd? I flew the 321 on winter 03 and they were nice equipment and well maintained! How your company is doing?

For the most part Ryan won't tell us about their plans, but I really do hope that we see the AL A320's back!

Yogri is not longer with us, he got recalled from his prevous employer and I am pretty sure he is doing good.

Well, I am going back to my CAA Validation studies!

Cheers,

LF

LittleFokker, thanks for the reply. Yea it was a bit cold but I have really enjoyed the land of 1000 lakes. We had couple of times a lay over in Chicago it was beautiful as well as Buffalo New York, with its famous suicide buffalo wings. No, I am not in Germany any more. After we flew the airplanes from Detroit to Frankfurt, the Aero Lloyd stopped the operation completely.
They have, sort of, established the new company, but I went to ME company on A 330. However I have heard rumours that the new company is going to lease some of the aircraft either to the States or to Canada and some to Singapore as well. What about you guys? Did you go to Europe to Spain or UK for summer flying? Would really love to go one more time to Mini for a season. Many greetings to everyone.
Cheers.
