Q400
Hi guys!

I know that it was mentioned a couple of threads ago regarding when TR courses will start for the Q400. But has anyone that has recently (FEB,MAR,APR) been for an assessment and passed been offered to start on these course dates?

thanks!!

Well guys, let me know if anyone has some info regarding this thread..

thanks again!

diarmuid8 15th April 2011 14:52

I finally received the results of my assessment today.
I passed and have been entered into a holding pool and will be contacted once a vacancy arises. From what I have read on this thread I won't be holding my breath!
And, assessments are still ongoing, baffling!
Anyway, good luck to everyone else.
D8.

What is your Experience, D8 ????

diarmuid8 15th April 2011 16:30

" What is your Experience, D8 ???? "

780TT P2 on a turboprop, a crappy lil' one! 1035 TT.
I'm in for the Q400 not the 73.

Hi everybody!!!

I applied as "pilot" on Air Baltic website job position, like more pilots here...

Unlucky, their said me that will look forward with other options.:{

I've all minimum requirements shown on career page, including Type rating on B737.
Now my question is: what is missing to be called for an interview?!
Probably they forgot to add on minimums... "more lucky", cause otherwise i don't know why i can't have the possibility to be selected as First officer...
How many of you have been called for an assessment with minimum requirements, without B737 type rating??
Anyone knows who is recruiting for summer contract, with only type, in a worldwide??
Thanks a lot at all!!!

Propellerpilot 19th April 2011 08:36

Looks like the pool is filled for the time being. Dash 8 and 737 likewise.

flyhigh85 19th April 2011 18:38

B737

Hi all
I have some hours on type and I passed the first assessment for B737 FO some time ago, and they put me in a holding pool for the last interview. Then I asked when they think that will happend but no answer. Anyone else in the same situation? Someone who knows if they need more FOs in the next few months?

someone also mentioned that we have to pay to fly the summer contract, that is a major assertion to say so can someone specify it more.

Cheers

Hi SARDO!!! :-) i think that you're italian, but due to better understanding of other members of this forum, i'll write in english :-)

So i read here that You 're been called for an interview at 23 of may.! Congrats!!
But I'ld like ask You if u r rated on B737 with min 500h on type, because as You have been read few post before, i applied several times (i'm rated on B737 without hours on type but with 200h of jet heavy plane) without good result!!:{

could u tell me more about it??

Thanks and congratulations too, because this means that there is still work in around world!!

just_another_pilot 26th April 2011 21:21

D8,
could you please PM me regarding the second stage... going for the 73 position....

thanks...

jackx123 27th April 2011 01:23

the holding pool is turning out to be more like an olympic size swimming pool.

had a few mates who passed all interviews and most of them moved on to another job except one. don't hold your breath on this one but take it as a learning experience

Seems to me they're creating a buffer for an exodus or something. Any dash drivers not being offered a start date? I can understand that if you're not rated that they will be less interested, but from what I understand they still need alot of people for the Q400 and if they can come in qualified and experienced for free that's just perfect for them.

Anyone any information about that?

drag king 1st May 2011 07:02

Seems to me they're creating a buffer for an exodus or something.
Exodus is there (or has been...) and it counts aprox 30 heads amongst F/Os (internal source), so the rumour of BT filling the pool seems realistic.

I am one of those that made it through Phase I in RIX, now looking at suitable dates to meet their shrinker and hopefully get a job offered.
Has anyone fresh info on their T&Cs for the DHC's fleet? What about the relationship between the 3-yrs bond (+ the 9K their charge the "discounted" TR...) and the Latvian/EU employment law? In UK this has always been regarded as a controversial practice, welcomed by pilots (as long as it suited them) and hardly enforced by all operators (when things went sour) due to its "borderline" nature in terms of legality.

Regards

DK ;)

Hi, I have also been called for interview. Anybody else will be in Riga on 11 May?

COMPRESSOR N1 1st May 2011 16:57

Sorry, but all those who have been called for the selection for F/O b737 position, are with type rating and have a minimum of 500 hours on 737?!........

undertherainbow 1st May 2011 21:44

exodus

Does anyone have concrete information about when they DO need people from the pool?
I know there will be a course in may, maybe in June or July as well, they are trying to find people with TR first. Anyone has concrete information about the amount of people they need for these courses?
Thanks :)

@ compressorN1: Yes.

@anybody else: will you be in Riga on 11 May for the assessment day?

straightin 3rd May 2011 10:58

@ undertherainbow: I don' care at all when will they need people from the pool, because I will not put myself in any pool. If the need me now, which might be likely for the summer season, I will be available to start working straightaway. If they will put me on a stand-by status, I will continue to do interviews. If I will still be free when they will ever call me, I will come, otherwise no. In other words, I can accept they can not go ahead with a contract immediately after the assessment, however in this case I will make sure with HR that I might not be available in the future.

captplaystation 3rd May 2011 12:13

I think HR are savvy enough to guess that.
If you are looking for a 737 position, and the rate of pilots leaving is indeed as mentioned in another post above, it may be that come the end of your Summer contract that you are offered a permanent one as so many have left who are senior to you. Never a guarantee, but not impossible.

bandwidth bandit 3rd May 2011 22:26

So you know, there are two stage. If you pass the first day you will be called for the second stage.
Does anyone have any information about the second stage?

cheers

If you read back through the 41 pages of this thread I feel sure you will find what you seek.
