Hi all
regarding the temporary position,I`ve been told about, from the lady in HR and the instructor, during the face to face interview. For everybody else who asked me about the atpl quiz. The calculations was for egz, that you have the ZFW,payload, fuel.what is the max fuel you can take regarding MTOW?with how much fuel will you land at dest?or alternate? How much can you hold over dest?Stuff like that. For Navi,it was like ,from this point(coordinates) what track will you follow to get to that point(coordinates)? For meteo, some questions regarding ISA deviation, fronts, squall lines.I`m sorry but I cannot remember more. You have 25-30 questions on each test with 3 answers from what only one is correct.Long story short you can not train yourself just studying SOME questions.Either you know,or guess the answer:ok:I guessed some answer for sure. For the sim,you got vectors for departure, and ILS CPH 22L.For the type-rated guys you get a malfunction/emergency as well.Oh,at least half of the questions in the 737 related test were from The Boeing 737 Technical Site (general questionnaire)Hope that these answers gave you more light, but do not be afraid. After all,the guys are very friendly and helpful.Best of luck to everyone! And save some thrills to discover it yourselves!:ok:
P.S. I responded here, cause in just few hours I got a lot of pm`s with basically the same questions. Cheers!

9000€ plus bond for 3 years

Thats the offer I got. I'm thinking of saying no. Paying and also signing a bond is a little too much I think.

Same here, not worth the money, better times will come soon!
That is quite a bold statement - I'm glad to see there is optimism around here! :ok:

Does any one now if the are actually hiring Ab initio pilots? There is a ad on there website for pilots, but when I applied I was getting an automatic response that my application was unsuccessful? Looks like nobody looked at it to me. I am fresh out of school and I think this would be a great opportunity.

Hi all

Got my interview in the next few weeks, just wondered if anyone has any info regarding the ATPL exams they give? is it from the bristol database or anywhere else?. Are the technical interview questions pretty difficult? any examples?.

Thanks in advance.

Brian304 24th February 2011 08:04

Hi

It is for B737 position, I am type rated and have line hours.

Brian304 24th February 2011 15:57

Too much info to disclose. But applied for FO position.

Squirrrel 24th February 2011 16:36

Recruitment needs for BT?

For Dash 8 I understand there will be a big need in the near future since 5 more are coming!

But what about for F50, B737 & B757 ?

A lot of B737 pilots seems to be leaving for foremost Norwegian...

Air Baltic

Hi, does anyone know which routes the Dashes are supposed to be flying? Is it possible to jumpseat on the company planes to positon to the base or is one actually to be there for standbys etc. If one has a Type Rating, is there still a bond on top of it, maybe? This is quite confusing.
Thanks.

captplaystation 28th February 2011 10:48

ID ticket required for all flights as passenger, even when they require you to be positioning crew, only company I know where you can jump seat around is Ryanair, although I know most Spanish carriers accept anyone with aircrew ID speaking Spanish who shows at the gate, the problem sometimes is to get to the gate.

Strictly speaking you cant use your airport ID to pass security except when you are operating, although there are ways round it :hmm: and to pass by pax channel you will need a boarding card, but anyway company require ticket, probably for insurance purposes.
The price of the ID ticket depends on destination, I paid less to BCN than my colleagues to CPH etc even though it was a much longer flight, purely because their airport taxes were higher.
Standbys are 1hr callout so you have to be in RIX. Days off are not always consecutive, but requests are normally honoured where possible and my ex colleagues commuting to Scandinavian destinations were getting home 3/4 times a month. Obviously it depends if you are commuting to somewhere with a daily/twice/thrice a day flight, and how much you want to spend each month on ID tickets, some guys were going home for even single days off, she must have been HOT ;) :ok:.
Dash appears to be taking over Fokker routes and the shorter/thinner Boeing ones. On a sector of 60/90 mins the block time difference is negligible but the fuel burn sure is not.

Hi guys, anybody knows what exactly is the psichological interview in the second stage of the interview consist of? Thanks

Aquafina1 28th February 2011 19:43

As far as I know the FCO and CDG routes out of VNO are (were) operated by the Q402s, I guess the DUB and London routes were operated by the 73 alright.
Is there a full time base for Q400 crews at VNO does anyone know? Anybody with experience of the region give an opinion on which is better to live in, Riga or Vilnius?!

Ethiopia 1st March 2011 03:45

From the timetable at airBaltic's website: http://www.airbaltic.com/upload_file/timetable.pdf

the Q400 operates to:

Aalesund, Belgrade, Berlin TXL, Billund, Brussels, Budapest (new route), Copenhaguen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kiev (not yet), Kittila, Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Lulea, Munich, Oslo, Oulu, Rovaniemi, St. Petersburg, Stockholm, Tampere, Tromso (not yet), Turku, Umea, Vaasa, Vienna, Zurich.

Add also: Vilnius, Tallin, Amsterdam, Kuusamo, Palanga, Kaunas..

Powerback 1st March 2011 14:19

so guys, please, can anybody share what is with the psichological interview in the second stage of the interview? is it a discussion or a written test? thanks for your answers.

captplaystation 1st March 2011 16:03

I didnt have to do it . . . well they obviously knew I was mad I guess  but if you take the time to trawl through the 37 pages of this thread I seem to remember seeing a post describing it.
I have vague recollections of a colleague telling me it was a bit weird ? ? :ooh: and not something you could prepare for as such.

Powerback 1st March 2011 18:56

Thanks Captplaystation, they actually mentioned when we entered the interview, that if we will be succesful ,we`ll have to come again for a psicho interview.
So,it`s a bit uncomfortable for me as I don`t have a direct flight, but I`ll go anyway. Will tell you guys as I did in the last pages.

Aquafina1 1st March 2011 19:03

Thanks Powerback, we (the people who are yet to go to RIX) are grateful to your info on the assessment with airBaltic.
Good luck to you.
