NAS kutter Fokker 50
Norwegian Air Shuttle AS (NAS) opplyste i dag at selskapet legger ned alle Fokker 50-operasjoner med virkning fra 31. desember 2003. Selskapet har kontrakt med samferdselsdepartementet om å drive anbudsrutene Bodø-Andenes-Tromsø og Tromsø-Lakselv i tre år fra 1. april 2003. Denne kontakten sier selskapet opp med virkning fra 31. desember, og departementet blir nødt til å lyse ut anbudet på nytt. NAS har satt av tre Fokker 50 til å fly disse rutene (den ene maskinen er i reserve). Fra 31. mars blir tre av selskapets Fokker 50 uten arbeid etter at selskapet da avslutter sin tiårige kontakt med Braathens om flygninger på Vestlandet.

So in short, What will happen to the pilots and what kind of effect will this have on the norwegian aviation job market??

Why would it affect the job market? Someone's gotta fly the routes anyhows...

Because SAS commuter is gonna fly yhe, and the were already laying off pilots.

So i guessed they would take their own pilots back an NAS would have to fire their pilots

But all in all, X number of pilots are employed, and X are unemployed. Both 4+6 and 6+4 is 10. There won't be a greater number of unemployed pilots after NAS is kicked out..?

NIce in theory but if the demand falls because of less competition that number wont b 10 but f.e. 8 doesnt it?
