Skiing in Sweden ;o)
Tjena guys,
I'm off to Are (yeah i know, Irish keyboards don't spell very well.. neither do Irish people) to ski in early Febuary, and just wanted to get some opinions on the place... anyone know any better places? Things to do other then ski? Restraunts? Clubs? Places to pick up good-looking women?
Any info greatly appreciated!
niall
PS: Any suggestions on efficient ways to get there from Skavsta/Vasteras (ah FR... a good bunch) other then by plane?

and yes knold, I had to much to drink, did some nice flips and dives, a couple of rounds in the jacuzzi and eventually ended up miscalculating a bombjump and hit the railing....
and all this can be done in Åre...just to stick to the subject...

Tja vi ligger väl alla i riskzonen för det men än har hon inte klagat...
Men för övrigt är skidåkning i Sverige mycket bra. Har man barn ska man åka till Säffsen eller nått stod det i reklamen.

Been skiing one year in the Alps and the other in Trysil for over 10 years now.
Prices for the overall holiday about the same.
Honestly!
Snow in Trysil generally better, just got back from Alpe d'Huez and only mud around the chalet. Even if the snow above 2100 meters was good.
Black runs in the Alps a lot "blacker" and more fun in the Alps than in Trysil. Trysil a much better plcae to go skiiing with kids; safer and smaller.
After Ski at Laaven or Knettsetra in Trysil is upåklagelig, but same goes for anywhere we've ever been in the Alps apart from Avoriaz.
Pistes are perfectly prepared in Trysil everyday, French Alps a load of sh*t on that front, even if it snowed every day there never was a piste-basher machine to be seen, loadsa rocks & ice on the lower slopes.
Many snowcanons both in the Alps and in Trysil. Difference is, is Trysil they switch 'em on, they were only til pynt in France!
Also missed the sauna & roll in the snow in the Alps.
Only real superior thing in the Alps is the possibility to book a "catered concept".
2 students who show up every morning at 0800 to serve and prepare breakfast for 18 people, clear it away, clean and tidy the whole place while we were skiing. Baked a lovely cake every day which we found when we returned from the slopes.
Returned around 1700 hrs to make tea/coffee/vin chaud and prepare and serve a 3 course meal while we just lounged about.
A most fatastical way to spend a ski hollliday!
If we could get the same deal in Tryil though, I don't think we'd ever set foot in the Alps again!
And that's something we all agreed on by the way, from Australia, the UK, Norway, Holland and the USA.
Heia Trysil!
Og godt nyttår til alle sammen forresten.
