French Aristocracy:

Not long ago I was on a route check during which the check captain and myself discussed many things. Our conversation touched on the French aristocracy and the check captain (an Englishman) told me the following story:
Prior to the French Revolution there was a group of French aristocrats who were concerned that the aristocracy was becoming " inbred". They decided that fresh blood was necessary so a delegation was sent to Denmark to recruit some healthy young men to come to Paris purely for the purpose of anonymously and discreetly improving the stock. My English check captain told me this actually happened but I cannot find any reference to it in recorded French history.
Did it really happen or is it just a story? Is there any reference to this in French (or Danish) history or has it been swept under the carpet as unmentionable subject?
I'll also put this on the Scandinanvian Forum as it's just possible that the Danish lads might have the answers.

Well known fact that the best lovers and best stock is found in Scandinavia, especially Denmark But if this story is true, it would imply that one or more French had actually gone and done something sensible

In those days the Danish Royal Family was known as the "Madhouse in the North", throughly inbread and completely incompetent in every respect. So maybe there's something to the story after all

Yes, great fun indeed but the problem would have been to get selected. Be interesting to know how the lucky ones were chosen.

Flip Flop Flyer:

This story is being driven on the French Forum but if you go over there be careful what you say as the moderator is a young lady who runs a tight ship. She has already put me on her " ignore list" and that's for only asking the question.

If they decide to do it again this century, count me in. I promise to be very discreet.

Tight ladies running young ships? Or ?

All:

I have made a statement on the French Forum that the " Answer lies with the Danes ". Do any of you Viking gentlemen know a teacher or academic who is well versed in your particular history. There must be someone who knows more about this than we pilots. I do not accept the suggestion by some who say the English make up stories just a for laugh.

JJ Flyer and Bengt Engel:

I'd say with a certain degree of confidence that both you gentlemen are now on the French Forum moderator's " ignore list".

Wink Discreet Ignorance

Oh my. To think that I am being ignored as well as Bengt. Where is this world going to?

And I was only volunteering out ofthe goodness of my heart to assist a nation in "Need".

I will bend over to get a good whipping and lower my head in shame. I am ready to be punished for my dreadful sins by female french aristocrats.

yeah you asked the same Q in the French Forum and overall we thought it was quite ridiculous. As I told you there, our replies sounded rather sarcastic because since none of us has been able to confirm your story, it was better taken as a joke.

Sad to see you can't take no for an answer and that refuse to admit your story (and not History) has no ground. So now that the Danes haven't confirmed it, what are you going to do... Ask the Spanish

The link to the thread in the French Forum

As for those who are on the ignore list (Didn't know there was such a thing), don't feel too bad, following POD 's contribution, a member of our flock got a little bit carried away (to say the least) and of course, was moderated accordingly.

I sure wish the Nordic ladies were coming to breed in France more often but may I suggest they stop in the UK (N.E please) first. 100% frog meat, low fat and free range available

Well guys,

The worst which has been done for the french Aristocracy (or against ! ) was invented by Mr Guillotine !
But let me thinks ... was it worst than breeding with danish representatives ? ;

Just a Joke

Hi JJFlyer ! Still somewhere around the world in your 727 ?

Cheers
