anyone know what the general waiting time would be for a base with either airline in Trondheim for someone with a ATPL and over 1000 hours on a multi crew airliner? (DCH8)

SAS doesn’t hire people for the TRD and SVG bases. In Norway OSL is the only base you will get. Still, quite a few people commute from both TRD and SVG (and other cities). On staff tickets, mind you. No commuter tickets available.

Would base transfer to TRD be available with SAS after initially based elsewhere ?

Not very likely.
Also SAS roster the few locals out on trips with layovers elsewhere, whilst putting up OSL crew and Cityjet at hotels in Trondheim.
The only real crewbase with return flights ending up at home everyday is NAX.
Given that we only get around 600-650 hours a year, I don't think we'll get any new FO's in a while.

However, if you'd get into the company during these times of hiring hiatus, it's all just a matter of being the highest ranking on seniority. (When you apply for transfer)

We just had a guy leave for SAS, to get a move to Oslo.
So there might be a chance next year, but until then; No hiring due to MAX-issues and consolidation of growth vs profitability.

You only get 600-650 hours a year? Thats amazing, currently I am close to doing 900 hours a year, 4 sector days on a DHC8..

What kind of salary is to be expected first year? Ive seen quotes of 400-600k NOK a year, which obviously is quite wide apart.
