fun with Norwegian in ALF and TOS
I keep hearing about a couple of NAS incidents in Alta:
- a rollercoaster go-around after attempting a base turn inside Komsa (!)
and Tromsø:
- landing with 300kg fuel total
Can anybody enlighten us as to what really happened?

There is supposedly a report filed about the outragously "low fuel" incident at TOS so guess we'll see when the NCAA has released it. When it comes to the ALF circling the tower guy according to rumours (I meen since we are a rumours network ) threw himself on the floor in the tower because he thought that wise!

Concidering their northen Norway check out is a ride in the jump seat, no surprise things like this happen.
I am looking forward to reading the ALF report. Because it was reported, right?

I am really overwhelmed by the response here. When pilots of other airlines have a hiccup or forgot to brush their teeth that morning, we get multiple pages for weeks on end of in depth analysis and knee jerk blame assignments. But here... virtually nothing.
Along with the thread about NAS being literally seconds away from falling out of the sky in Helsinki, a thread that died almost as fast as you can say "oops", you have to wonder: Does NAS have the same deal as Hemirats here?
See evil, hear evil, but never, ever say evil.

Dear ms. Flathead.
It does not matter if You call Yourself Nyhellesynd or Flatthadder. Your postings and intensions are clear to most people with an iq of more than 30.
What U said in the first post, a rumor.
Who would make up such a rumor in the first place? Take a pick.
Thats the reason why peple dont respond to Your idiot post.
Why not chill and get a life?
There is nothing U can do to make NAX go away.
By the way. I'm still waiting for Your mothers address so the membership cards can be mailed off to You two.
Sincerely yours,
Another one.

Mr Adder, what is your agenda? You've asked the question and clearly the guys with the answer have chosen to honor their confidentiality agreement with their employer by not posting what they know. Respect that and wait for the the official report if these mistakes you are referring to warrant one...

Well wide of the mark on that one, all pilots unless they have previous Northern Norway experience under go a comprehensive training program if they are to fly North of 64 degree, this includes a 3 day ground school course covering performance on contaminated runways amongst other thing and 2 days in the sim where they will visit these airfields in both normal and non-normal situations i.e. EFATO, pilots are required to pass this exercise before being authorised to operate above 64, they will in addition visit many of the airfield on the jump seat BEFORE undertaking this course.

There are still some "on-going" rumours about this DY, with only 300 kg's of remaining fuel in tanks, after parking in TOS. Story say that the fuel/ramp personnel discovered it when refueling, but I don't know...
Was it a spanish crew, on a LPA-flight?

The rumour about the remaining 300 kg fuel is false.
One fuelling staff worker in TOS reported this and the matter was taken to Luftfartstilsynet which asked NAS for a report.
The investigation proved to Luftfartstilsynet that the claim was false.
It is not known what the consequences this have brought for the fuelling guy.

Perhaps somebody made a mistake; not unlikely given our human condition. But fear of making mistakes should never get in the way of a healthy reporting system. Unless you're insinuating something else?

Unless something is TOTALLY different, how the hell would a fuel guy have an inkling of how much fuel was remaining?
I have not had a fuellie in the cockpit (where the gauges are) in 25 years. Maybe you guys have fuel gauges in the outside fuel panel?
This kind of story would be EASILY checked by checking the departure fuel and the flight time etc...as we all know.
Sounds like duck, looks like a duck, smells like a duck....it just might be a ...........
As far as SAS people throwing stones, you should be the last company´s employees to throw stones at any other company.
