Unless you work in a third world organization run my Kim Jung Un and still fly around with starfighters, there should be no
consequences for reporting.
Perhaps somebody made a mistake; not unlikely given our human condition. But fear of making mistakes should never get in the way of a healthy reporting system. Unless you're insinuating something else?
