Cool Lowcostcarrier domestic in Sweden!

The chartercarrier MD Icelandic will announce tomorrow they will start operation on the domestic route arn-lla with four daily roundtrips. They will operate it in cooperation with "Traffic Europa" who have become known in Sweden for their lowcost service to several destinations throughout Europe.

This is only the beginning of a major expansion within Sweden, inside sources say. The ticketprices that has risen dramatically since SAS got monopoly will be slashed at least in half and their marketingapproach will be that of a lowcostcarrier. This is made possible trough their incredibly tight and efficient organisation and the low leasing cost of their aircraft.

The 30 some pilotcorps that will soon be increased consists of ex Transwede,SAS and Finnair crew. The company is owned and operated by a few but finacially strong Icelandic nationals. They are at this moment in negociations of overtaking the bancuptcy stricken remains of Swedeways that will bring them more capacity in the maintenancefield.

ARN-KSD for a person under 26 years costs 720 SEK roundtrip. If anyone wants to cut that in half they wont last long. Good luck to anyone who tries :-)

Thumbs up

Normal price ARN-KSD 3361 SEK for a booking tomorrow.(You can't really think that a student or youth fare makes an airline go)
Thumbs up MD and Nordic.

Come to think of it: Is Swedeways bankrupt already? Didn't they just start up last spring or so?

Metro Pilot - yes it is more expensive to buy today and fly tommorrow, but not many do that. So the actual price is to be found inbetween. I welcome the competition.
