FinnComm
Has anyone here got any info about the selection process at FinnComm? I've heard the psychological tests are a bit over the top -maybe a reason why they're short of pilots...?

By this you`re implying that they are hiring? Which of course is good news! With there being an abundance of pilots on the streets and not in th air, they should have no problems finding suitable drivers. Haven`t heard anything about their tests, but generally one can say that those who pass selection tests say that they aren`t that bad, while those who don`t pass say they`re stupid/crazy/useless and perhaps even over the top?. I would guess that if you google numerical tests and reasoning you should be able to find plenty of practice tests.
BTW, what are their T&Cs? And hiring minimums?

You can not find the hiring page if you're viewing the page in English. They are hiring Finnish speaking pilots all the time but the queue to the selection process is 6 months long

by George! what do you mean by six months? if I'm invited to an interview, I'd have to wait for it for six months? I'll be only finishing my course in a couple of months, so should I actually apply now?
Guttn, they're not requiring minimum hours, only CPL, MCC, IR and class 1 medical

The queue is approximately 6 months. I know a few who sent their application in August/September 2009 and last month they got invited to the first phase of the selection process.
The first phase is a sim test. If you passed it, you'd be invited to the interview. If they show you green light in the interview, the next phase is going to be the psychological test.
If you apply before having all the needed licences and documents, they will reject the application immediately. This is how it works.

A good ol`fashioned selection process. Finally! Not too many airlines who will put you in a sim to see if you actually can manouver and fly an approach. And by taking their time (the company) they can get a more thorough impression of you as both a pilot and a person. I`m impressed! What about the T&Cs at FinnComm? (No, I`m not applying, just curious)

Finncomm
Tried Finncomm, (over 9000hrs commercial) I even know quite a few of their guys - nice crowd, house in Helsinki - all the right ticks in boxes, not fluent in Finnish NO CHANCE!! good luck with your endeavours but I fear the language barrier may be just too much.
