So it ended up with "only" 73 pilots? The first numbers I heard were a surplus of 400 pilots, so if ended up with 73 after LOA, early retirement packages, parttime and so on, I believe the union did a good job. Is it enough?

13th, that`s the big Q. Will they be able to recover this time? I`ll give it at fair 50-50% chance, as the Swede at the top seems to be the man needed to get the tough job done. He has previous experience of leading large companies, and making healthy profits doing so. He has also been able to make a common understanding of the company`s current economical status, which in iself is a feat worth mentioning. BUT, I don`t think we`ve seen the bottom just yet, let alone a complete turnaround. It will take some time, a ton or two of elbowgrease, and a lack of misfortune. Time will tell for sure.

The sooner they close that company the better. SAS has had extremely bad management for too many years and over paid cabin crew.

Feel sorry for the pilots. NO

Initially yes but in the long term they will see that there are much better companies out there. The pilots have had redundancies hanging over their head for the last 8 years. And this is after having tried to help the company in many ways.

Was my selves one off the first pilots to be laid off in 2003. And am now very happy in another company. Am sure the other pilots will feel the same after a few years. Some pilots may take decades.

Yes it probably sounds more harsh then I mean it. But I do believe that these guys will be happier in the long run by not being in a company that has no future and are always talking about cutting t&cs or laying of pilots. Market WAS very different when I left I know

Sorry to say I could not have said it better myself
The cabin crew actually got a payrise this year while the flightdeck took paycuts!

Hawkeye red,

One's death, the other one's bread.

Guess the saying didn't come out of nowhere for no reason.

One from Ialpa suggested as part of our new pay deal that compensation for working on an off day should be 0 NOTHING. At first I completely disagreed...After some time it seem like a very good idea. Will it ever happen in SAS. Even there people are simply to selfish and greedy..
