Buy headset to Norway, from an internet store in USA.

Hi !

I am going to buy headset David Clark H10-13.4 from sportys an internet store in USA for $267.00 USD (KR.1340.00 NOK)

How much do i have to pay in tax, vat and cargo ?

Do you know if i buy from the internet store in USA and mark them as a gift can i exclude the vat and tax on these headset ?

Obviusly the best way for me is to buy them in USA, it would probably be cheaper than to buy them here in Norway they cost about KR.2950.00 NOK

Best regards
dypen

If you're serious about flying, then at least buy an ANR headset. I regret buying the 10-13.4 =(

Toll

I live in Oslo, and I've recently been in touch with Norgie customs about importing some electrical goods from Germany.

According to the email I received in reply to my query, there is NO customs duty to pay, only 25% MVA (vat) on the tax free price. Make sure the goods are sent tax free from the US, as some companies charge a local sales tax regardless of where they're going.

As for having them marked as a gift . . . risky . . . a lot of parcels coming into Norway are routinely scanned and opened, and if they find you have tried to pull a fast one, not only will they confiscate the goods, but you'll get a hefty fine too, just to reinforce the pain

Your best bet is to get someone to bring them in for you, the tax free allowance when entering Norway is Kr6000, more than enough to cover the cost of even a couple of the things, then you could sell one on and effectively save even more, but that's not allowed, so I wouldn't advise you to break the law . . . or would I

In that case its easy to misunderstand what Tollvesenet (Customs) says on their webpage. As far as I could gather if you are going to import something that costs more then 1000kr then either the company thats selling you the item or the one thats shipping it for you can charge you for the VAT or you can recive the item, but you are not allowed to use it untill you have gone down to your local Customs office and payed the charges.

Varer over kr 1000,-

NB!

Hi Dypen,

Would you mind letting me know how you went about this? - PM if you like. I'm thinking about the same thing, but was 'burnt' by the 25% + courier fees + + + for some other items from Amazon in the UK in late 2008, so I'm a bit more cautious now.

Takk

Peltor

Sted Oslo.
Dette vil være superbillig. Sitter med tre sett, alle peltor. DC er som amerikanske biler, gammeldags. Peltor lages i swe, og er moderne!!! Ville ikke valgt DC før Peltor.
Gi meg en PM viss interesse.
