Hello.
You have probably heard this before, but when you buy typerating, you make it so much harder for your fellow pilots, to get jobs. And might also for yourself, if you find no job??!

Right now, I'm flying freight around in a caravan, for almost no pay, i have to work 2 jobs, to pay the bills!!!!!. And It kinda suck, when people take the short cut of paying for the typeratings themself...

If nobody bought typeratings, all companies would have to pay/bonding for it, and that's the way It should be, if you ask me.

I know of no other profession where people pay huge amounts of money to get jobs....

My suggestion, climb the ladder, or get in with a company that pays for your typerating...

ILSTOMIN:
When you're a bit more experienced you'll learn that there's no such things as careing and loyalty from your fellow pilots as a general. Loyalty in a company yes, but in general all pilots no.

Secondly, why would flying freight, working two jobs just to pay the bills be better that buying a 319 rating -get a job within weeks and probably make twice the salary you do? All this whilst working near home and not being based somewhere in africa or the like...

Don't get me wrong. I totally understand if you don't want to pay for a typerating -but it's naive to tell wannabees not to pay for a TR jut because you didn't and you don't want them to pass you on the career latter.

With regards to C4U I know some TRI's there and they are all proffesional and tell me that people in general get job very quickly (mainly Air Berlin).

FUI: I did not buy a typerating or work for Air Berlin. Nor did I attend C4U...

Buying a TR should be the last option before getting your taxi permit! After not succeeding as an instructor, or being fortunate enough to be in ILSTOMIN`s shoes doing real hands-on flying in very demanding conditions with a slightly underpowered aircraft for about half a peanut.

I know a lot of pilots who have said that they would never sell out and buy a TR. Head high and proud and all that good stuff. But, when the jets are too tempting and opportunity is a-knockin`.... they sold out . All good guys, and most with some real experience, so they should have no problem functioning as F/O, and soon F/C . Good for them. The problem comes when you have a F/C with little experience, and an F/O straight outta touch n goes with a SEP . Sure they can operate the aircraft within company SOP, but when the hits the fan there could be more than a few hiccups... Ask any F/C what is the most valuable thing he has at work, and 9 outa 10 will say a good F/O .

ILSTOMIN, keep up the good work, don`t sell out, and keep those applications going. And sooner, rather than later, you`ll see that you`ll be receiving phonecalls from companies who like F/Os with reaworld experience. And you won`t have to pay a dime
