Well, what words are up for review?
Airmanship
Cockpit
Joystick
Male and female cannon plugs
Hangars and undercarriage can be construed as an oblique reference to the male anatomy
Flaps similarly for females
"Hit the tit" has to go, as does "Call the ball"
Jesus nut, or any kind of nuts, ball bearings
Better get rid of the term "Air VICE Marshal", sexual connotations, and also "Privates".

How much more woke can they go? How do women deal with Personstruation and Personopause?

A bit like that daft Spam nonsense at Incirlik! "Heads Up" or "Head sector" were deemed offensive to women, as was the 'Kill Box'.... So they would talk about "Going locker to locker in the container", instead of "Head to head in the box".

We told them that they were also using a word which was offensive to our females. "Gee, sorry, what word is that?".

"Bush"! As in GeeDubya, for example!

If airmanship has to go because it has those 3 letters in the middle of it I guess there is no limit to it. With terms like woman, women, female and alike being chopped by the training system I guess we are back to symbols. Quite a quiz but let's stick to the top 10 (apologies for those Spinal Tap and beyond):

Was there any female Red Indian Chiefs? if not then the word Chief indicates a male position, so Chief of the Air Staff or Air Chief Marshal will need to go as it infers a male role.
Chinook and Apache are named after Indian tribes, so they will need to be renamed so as to be shown to be racially neutral. Dakota too.

and the use of the word right in anything, as it is prejudicial to Lefties everywhere, or indeed the word left for the same reasons.

The inmates are truly running the asylum.

It amazes me how quickly after leaving the RAF that I stopped caring about cr@p like this. Bearing in mind that people currently serving either don’t post on here or aren’t especially bothered and just get on with their jobs, it’s incredible that a bunch of people who left long before I did can still allow their knickers to get knotted over something that doesn’t affect them.

I find life is much easier if you see stories like this and just adopt a ‘ho hum’ attitude. If it doesn’t affect you, move on.

It’s fair to say that my current work location does not hinder itself with such concern over pronouns. Neither do I expect they will in my lifetime. Ho hum.

Since I am no longer in the military I can say what I like (I’ll avoid actually verbal abuse) and I therefore don’t let the mooted RAF regulations bother me. And if I want to wear knickers, that’s my choice.

Having just shown this to the OH, we wonder how we survived our joint 55 years of RAF commissioned service without having complete mental breakdowns.

Thank the (*deity of choice) we are long since departed this current madhouse.

It would be interesting if there was a response along the lines of this entire topic makes me feel uncomfortable as it doesn’t align with my beliefs. My beliefs, are of course a protected characteristic under discrimination legislation, so I would ask that we refrain from any further orders which force me to act in a way contrary to my beliefs.

So what ya going to do then? It’s a perfectly reasonable response. And it would be entirely legal and in line with legislation to make it. Would
the RAF take it seriously or would they show their colours and confirm that they are a full inclusive employer right up to the point they’re not. Useless white males need not reply.
