Methinks the title/heading is misleading

MPN11 16th Oct 2020 16:52

Fake news ... aircrew don’t walk that far.

ex-fast-jets 16th Oct 2020 18:00

Less Negative Vibes, Moriarty!!

For goodness sake - give the kid and his Dad a break.

A young boy of his age doing something for charity???..........good on him.

Does it matter what he wears??

Well done, young man - and thank you.

spitfirek5054 16th Oct 2020 18:03

Not knocking the boy or what he is doing.just think the title of this topic is misleading.

West Coast 16th Oct 2020 18:12

Do none of you have a sense of humor? Title is just fine as is the content.

MPN gets it.

Captain Radar.... 16th Oct 2020 18:14

Nut loose has got a nut loose. Probably trying to be funny but failing miserably. Maybe a walt comedian?
Good luck to the lad, hope he goes far and gets to wear the rank for real on his way to the top!

EricsLad 16th Oct 2020 18:53

NutLoose - well done.
Not everybody gets a sense of humour issued.

Blimey, I thought you would see the funny side, it’s called humour, that little lad puts many to shame and it’s not the first time either. I thought you would appreciate the negativity of the title turning out to be something wonderful for a change.

yep, about as funny as the time I had a cyst lanced on my left knacker

not really. Sometimes it is better to say things as they are and not try and make some pathetic joke. Just trying a little too hard.

good luck to the young lad

megan 16th Oct 2020 19:37

£25,000, well done young man. :ok:

ex-fast-jets 16th Oct 2020 19:59

Nothing To Do With Humour

Sorry - but the original title is wrong IMHO.

Nothing to do with misplaced humour.

This young man is doing something many of his age are not - he deserves full support and does not need subtle comments which he might - and I certainly - do not understand.

Go for it, young man, and ignore any negative waves!!

ORAC 16th Oct 2020 20:27

Obviously aircrew - if he was a controller he’d have a pint at every pub along the route......

(See Boulmer Engineers Walk).....

XL189 16th Oct 2020 20:49

His name isn't Walt, or Walter, it's Jacob

Some of us did.

ex-fast-jets 16th Oct 2020 20:59

Let's Get Positive

Can we forget the subtle - or not subtle - comments........

Let's all get behind this young man and applaud what he is doing.

At his age, he needs us all to thank him for his efforts, without any confusing comments.

Hydromet 16th Oct 2020 21:04

Well I thought the title was funny.

Well done to the young man.

ShyTorque 16th Oct 2020 21:07

Nutty, I saw the joke. Good on the lad!

(Perhaps some were so disappointed by not being able to be angry, so the anger still has “shone” through ).

air pig 16th Oct 2020 21:15

Six times further than the Rockape's much vaunted 5 miles of death. Good luck young feller.

Baldeep Inminj 16th Oct 2020 22:15

A guy in a flying suit wondering off into the distance with no idea where he is going in life...

I think the Wing Commander rank is absolutely perfect.

That said, this young man will probably achieve something worthwhile and of benefit to society...so maybe not.🤔

stevef 16th Oct 2020 22:25

So much for the renowned military sense of humour...
It was perfectly clear, even to this bottom-feeding ex-SAC, that the post was intended to be humorous. Some people can't wait to be offended.

Wilco...

You are a tw@t!

mgahan 17th Oct 2020 05:02

Good title - pity some didn't get the subtlety - and great action on the part of the kid and whoever organised it.

Good follow up with post #15 = ain't that the truth!

What a barrel of fun you must have been in the Forces.

When you walked into the bar I dont suppose all the other bods made thier excuses and Foxtrot Off'd did they?

I suggest you should have kept the cyst. That would have given you something to talk about.

And for the Love of God dont go on ARRSE.

dctyke 17th Oct 2020 07:51

I’ve bought my five year old grandson a spacesuit for Christmas complete with mission badges, he’s always wanted one. Good job I saw this string before I gave it to him. I’ll have to make sure he does the NASA course before he can have it. Can’t be to careful!

btw, nice one nutloose.

Hmmm, maybe, it would have reminded how little I missed knobs like you.

It’s really got nothing to do with having a sense of humour or not. It’s just an arse title for a thread about a young lad doing something good. Oh and the word ‘Walt’ won’t even be understood by most people under 50!

Beamr 17th Oct 2020 08:38

I am a bit overwhelmed of the amount of tw@ts, foxtrot oscars and other similar type of expressions being thrown here for such a thing. I'm not even a native english speaker and I found the title amusing in the context. If I wouldn't, I still couldnt abuse anyone else for it.

on topic: well done young lad, and the suit really suites you.

Proof of that last sentence please or its off to bellend corner for you my dear new friend.

AARON O'DICKYDIDO 17th Oct 2020 10:08

I get the joke.

Well done young man. You are a great credit to to all young children.

Aaron.

NutLoose 17th Oct 2020 11:16

Guys, all chill out, it was supposed to be a thread about the good people in this world of give that are an inspiration regardless of age.

ExRadar I would do what I did ages ago and block SD then you don’t have to read the vindictive purile hate he posts, the only reason I’m seeing it now is some of you are quoting him.

are you serious, vindictive puerile hate, really? What because I said the thread title was daft? You need your bumps feeling fella.

You will also have noted that others shared the same view too.

radar bloke - go and chat to people in their teens, twenties and thirties, most won’t have a clue what a Walt is or have heard of Walter Mitty. Always a challenge to prove a negative though.

The idea of the forum is a discussion amongst like minded people. Some here are obviously not like minded and seem to want to criticise for criticism’s sake.

Not at all. Although I will clearly take issue with that sort of stupid comment.

the last time I checked which country I was sitting in, people were allowed to hold differing views, and to express them. Maybe you spent a little bit too much time in the mob and have forgotten that?
