RAF St Mawgan
I am trying to find any information about my dad who was at RAF St Mawgan from around 1959 to 1963, he was Wing Cmdr Fred Houghton I believe in 201 squadron. He has passed away now but I'm keen to find out anything I can about him and his time there, esp during the cuban crisis. I of course knew nothing of it then as I was 8 or 9, but I remember him being quite preocupied with something around that time. Anyone that knew him or can give any info on St Mawgan at that time, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks Alan Houghton |
Probably worth getting in touch with the 201 Sqn Association, the Associations normally have an Archivist.

Odds on certainty that someone from the Shackleton Association will remember your Dad...
https://www.thegrowler.org.uk/ ...and since you will be dealing with retirees and enthusiasts might be a bit more expedient than people for whom the task will be a secondary duty. Anyway, two good leads for you to chase up...good luck |
