MPN, no I didn't, but the clock is a 12 hour repeater so the same pun can be rewound every 12 hours.

How do they manage an 8 day clock? What are the SOPs?
  1. Someone winds it every Sunday [but if there's a raid on, someone might forget?]
  2. Aged Retainer comes in once a week to wind it [what happens if he gets sick, or dies?]
  3. Duty Airman issued with key, winding for the use of [what happens if he's sick, hungover or forgetful?]

But ... how would the clock watcher know when to wind the clock?

There appears to be no escapement from clocking on to this thread, there has been some jewels posted so far, 17 jewels to be precise. I will continue to watch what happens and see how long it takes until it sweeps to the bottom of the page, I am surprised a thread clockwise has lasted so long.
