RAF C-130 50th Anniversary

According to the Torygraph tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the delivery of the first RAF C-130.

Many happy returns.

I thought the RAAF got their 1st C-130 in 1958?

It did, but how is that connected to RAF deliveries?

Four Hercs up from BZN c/s Omen 1 to 4 currently with Coningsby radar .

Edit ; flypast completed as planned :D

Heard, but not seen as they were above the clag. Unlike the MV-22 who came through a few minutes later and was clearly visible.

Didn't they look nice and shiny before somebody slapped paint on them?

Sook 19th Dec 2016 14:57

The first K to arrive was XV177. XV176 didn't arrive until in the UK until May 1967 and was probably around the 14th to turn up (shows how quick delivery was!).
