Don't worry about the cost. By the time a committee have sorted this out, the RAF will only be of the size that requires half a dozen, and that will include a couple of spares.

How about writing on their rank badges like TCW and TSW? They could have BLUNT on theirs? :E

We're all 'assistants' on delivering the airborne effect on the desired target. Some have a bigger role to play than others, but we're all part of the team that delivers that 'effect'.

Despite my suggested 'BLUNT' badge, I do think a badge of trade/branch is a good idea. Being able to walk into a room and at a glance have a reasonable idea of someone's specialisation is a good thing. That's why the WSO/WSOp flying badge was such a daft idea...:yuk: Originally, it was planned to have a badge to distinguish between a Nav and a Fast Jet Weapons System Operator - it went wrong when non-FJ types started to get involved. Personnally, I would have revived the RO (RADAR Observer) brevet for the FJ types.

Save money by adopting an anchor... Huge inanimate weight that impedes progress. We could always differentiate it by putting a "W" in front of it...

With the current aircrew retention issue it may be worth issuing them a Future Pilot sticker rather than waste time designing a new badge!
