not just in the leadership's mind - I'm sure a lot of people just below the resigning officer would feel that, even though the circumstances were unfortunate, the country still requires Air Marshalls and therefore would, very reluctantly, feel they had no option but to step forward....... indeed it could almost be seen as A DUTY

;);)

Glad I did my 1990 to 2012 stint. Would happily have stayed to "contracted" age 55 but Cameron's slap on the nose to BAE stopped that (MRA4 cancellation). Would I rejoin? On same T&Cs as when I left (including same PAS level) - yup. Would I rejoin under the new T&Cs (even if currently NEM not affecting Officer cadre) - nope. Would I recommend the Service life to a young person (RAF only obviously :p ) - yes. They won't miss what they never had and the rest still makes it a great career in my opinion (some trades more than others granted).

Is it any better on the outside....?
My Son-In Law left the RAF as an SAC Stakka less than 4 years ago and is now earning more than a WO...working at the same camp he left!

As the spams say...go figure!

Only problem with VSO's resigning in disgust is that governments find other VSO's who will parrot the party line and screw it up :ugh::ugh:

So the issue really is that there are no persons in any high office in UK, civil or military, with profound principles worth more than money...apart from Corbyn?
