Future King

HRH the Duchess of York (big mistake - Cambridge as we all know. I am an idiot) - has given birth to a baby boy.

The baby was delivered at 16:24 BST, weighing 8lb 6oz, it was announced in a press release.

15 to 1. Worth a flutter.

Fantastic news!!! Congratulations to the proud parents and welcome to our future King!!!!!

:ok:

Courtney ... that's going to cost you a few beers :ok:

Many congratulations :D:D:D:D

Wensleydale 22nd Jul 2013 20:00

A boy - as RAF Aircrew? He hasn't been flying enough!!!

Don't get at Courtney - everyone knows that York has primacy in all things so it was a natural slip to make!

Herod 22nd Jul 2013 20:04

everyone knows that York has primacy in all things
Rumour has it that, when GeorgeVI died, the Yorkshire Post headline was "Ex-Duke of York Dies". All to do with priorities.

As an aside, when was the last time we had an heir to the heir to the heir to the throne; or is this a first?

TomJoad 22nd Jul 2013 20:10

It's a baby, told you. Congrats etc.

Kerosene Kraut 22nd Jul 2013 20:20

Congratulations!

Courtney Mil 22nd Jul 2013 20:24

Tom,

You did indeed predict that. The only one to get it right. I was hoping for a girl or a really cute puppy. But, hey, it's a boy!

Coff et al,

Bugger. In my rush to to win at 15 to 1 I blew it. And it will be here on the record forever. What can I say? Except I had £1,000 on me. :ouch::mad::uhoh:

But, hey, it's a boy. Our future King.

NutLoose 22nd Jul 2013 20:26

Congratulations.... :D

A good 25 years from now he may be able to fly the F-35 on entry into service.. :}

Oh it was just a bit on a hunch Courtney. Thank God it wasn't a puppy, that would have made for a barking King.

If you think duchess of York is bad ......some foreign geezer on sky news said " the news is it's a black boy" ...... The lovely kate ran away. He's Probably locked in the tower now. Off with his head :-)

Wensleydale 22nd Jul 2013 21:01

or is this a first?
The last time was the birth of Edward VIII during the reign of Queen Victoria.

Courtney Mil 22nd Jul 2013 21:15

And let's not forget the happy grandparents. Congratulations to Michael and Carole Middleton.

Herod 22nd Jul 2013 21:23

Hi Wensleydale. Yep, I just realised that, and you beat me to it.

Sorry to disagree Tom but Nutty's being incredibly over-optimistic rather than funny, wouldn't you say?

Whatever .. good luck to the new sprog. Until he dons dark blue or green/brown that is, whereupon he's fair game :E

54Phan 22nd Jul 2013 23:05

Yes, congratulations to the parents. I wonder what Father Christmas will bring him for his first?

thing 22nd Jul 2013 23:07

Best wishes to the parents and grandparents (and great grandparents!) Can't say I would want to be in the snapper's shoes but there you go, accident of birth and all that.

Edit: just watching the news and some grovelling royal commentator is saying how they should be left to live a normal life while youngster is growing up. How about starting by getting off the air then?

500N 22nd Jul 2013 23:13

I think he is better placed than Charles ever was.

Hopefully his personality will mean he is like William or Harry
and be able to take advantage of more freedom.

As an example, would Charles have ever purchased and ridden
a high performance Motorbike like William did or does, riding
it through London anonymously ?

Well he doesn't anymore...

500N 22nd Jul 2013 23:22

thing

Did he sell it ?

It wasn't that long ago he rode it to a soccer game in the park near his house.

thing 22nd Jul 2013 23:37

I meant he doen't ride it anonymously anymore...wooosh...

500N 22nd Jul 2013 23:44

I think it was the Sun that blew it.

Then again, just look for the Rangy :O

thing 23rd Jul 2013 00:03

Off to Oz tomorrow to escape but according to Oz son it's just as bad over there. I shall pierce my eardrums.

500N 23rd Jul 2013 01:09

It's not too bad.

Mainly the lovey dovey Breakfast programs.

It will all be over in a few days or by the time you get here.

sisemen 23rd Jul 2013 01:41

Shall chuck a roo steak on the barbie and wash it down with a few tinnies. Ripper. :ok:

Al R 23rd Jul 2013 04:38

.. bittersweet that they had a few hours together before breaking the news. Cherished memories of normality and peace before losing it forever.

Warmest congrats to them all and I hope they max out the Junior ISA.

alisoncc 23rd Jul 2013 04:51

Just a general question. If Kate, Wills and Sproglet head off to Bucklebury straight from St Mary's is Aunty Betty likely to visit there? And has she visited before?

Is there any traditional custom relating to new born royalty being presented to the Queen at Buck House, and is there a requirement for the Speaker of the House of Parliament to be officially informed? Again a tradition thing.

Fareastdriver 23rd Jul 2013 05:11

The Speaker is probably on some foreign junket so will be uncontactable.

Whenurhappy 23rd Jul 2013 05:41

The Speaker can be contacted via his wife's Twitter account...

On second thoughts, her feed isn't taking any posts "for legal reasons".

Congrats to the couple from a fellow RAF Officer.

air pig 23rd Jul 2013 09:12

Yes, congratulations to the parents. I wonder what Father Christmas will bring him for his first?
His own Air Force, just a few years before he can play with it.

Congratulations to both.

1.3VStall 23rd Jul 2013 09:20

Air pig, I just hope there's an Air Force left for him to play with when he's old enough!
