Request for Flight Safety Poster
Grateful for anyone who can help - does anyone have a copy or link to a mid-90s (I think) poster that was a cartoon showing an airfield and then pretty much every accident and incident that had happened for the whole year?
I remember there was an AWACS in in and a 4-ship of Tornados that had an Airprox in the circuit as well as lots more. I want to use it as the basis of a safety poster myself so very grateful for any steers. |
Might it be in THIS link?

I will have a look at my collection tomorrow for you.

Thanks for trying but the link doesn't have it and I have searched the online archive - not there either but it definitely was an RAF FS poster. I guess it was pretty effective, which is why I remember it and that's why I want to use the format again now.
Thanks Wg Cdr Spry - much appreciated and knew this would be better than DII! |
I may be wrong but I don't think it was a one off poster. I seam to recall that for a few years running there was a double spread poster in the Flight Safety magazine which, as you said summarized, that year's accidents. And you're right it was a good poster as you tried to recall each incident. Again I may be wrong but wasn't it drawn in a cartoon type style.

Yep, it was like the one at the link, but specifically featured the incidents and accidents. Funny, it seemed really effective but it seems really hard to find - certainly not in the archives

Please PM me your DII address and I will be in touch.

Perhaps you should dust off those ancient, but memorable 16mm FS movies of bygone days, Spry?
Dr.Fod and the Wayward Body, for example. And yes, I know it's on YouTube. As en ex-FSO, my feeling is that post-PC FS material was/is duller than the dullest thing in dullsville - 'tis a well-known advertiser's fact that 'Bs and Ts' are the only thing which will attact the attention of your primary 'market'..... No Bs and Ts = NFI......!! Of course the other problem with re-releasing something like the original 'Frustration', which ends with a couple of mates punching out of a Javelin, is that what might have seemed frustrating back then looks pretty good these days.....:\ |
