Odd Shaped Balls

PPRuNe Combine … PPRuNe Combine …

I'm bringing forward the issue of this NOTAM as further pre-match Comms, Sourcing and Logistical Planning maybe necessary for some operational personnel.

The Match coincides with Mother's Day … So as to ensure uninterupted viewing it is highly recommended that adequate planning is undertaken to ensure visits, flowers, cards, telephone calls, lunches etc. are all executed well before 1430 Hrs this coming Sunday. Special attention is advisable for those who have offspring at University and who are not returning home for the weekend by ensuring said offspring make an effort to contact their Mother's (All forms of Social Media Messaging and Texting are considered inappropriate for such purposes).

If there are any Aircrew possessing tickets for uniformed attendance, as with the last Twickenham Match, in the event they may appear on TV, a discrete signal may be appropriate to acknowledge PPRuNe solidarity. Solidarity in this context will mean "nice one chaps glad you're drinking for us while we are on duty" :}.

Some of us in foreign parts have to watch the game a day or two later.

May I ask that any threads post-match be titled 'England Game' or similar, rather than something which gives the result away!

...unlike last time...:{

langleybaston 8th Mar 2013 10:56

Thank you .............. never mind Italy, what about the , er, other lot, the week after?

[Thinks ......... is the England vs NZ cricket an OMEN?]

I think I might arrange an alternative activity for the other lot game, otherwise the oaths and the shrill cries from erindoors [she is the big rugger fan] will be too much to bear. And she's so demanding on Stella stocks too.

Courtney Mil 8th Mar 2013 10:56

Good call, Coff. And sound advice. :D

F3 ...

Wilco ... We will use this OSB Thread as the Primary Comms Stud both pre and during the Match for usual banter etc. Would recommend that you guard against inadvertent selection of this Stud on Sunday +24/48 Hrs as appropriate :ok:

Another good reason to issue the NOTAM early ... Operational Comms now sorted :D

Coff.

CoffmanStarter 8th Mar 2013 12:03

Thanks Milo ... F3 ... If the technology works we'll be looking for you on radar ... feel free to check in on the OSB Stud Sunday :ok:

F3. Get a VPN. Strongvpn.com works a treat and bypasses any gates that may be set up by host countries.

Good luck!

Fox 3 - VPN's the way ahead - just don't tell anyone ;)

Dak Man 8th Mar 2013 16:21

Tunnel Bear to Live BBC TV or to FilmOn is the way to do it, very cheap ($50 /yr) and very easy :)

C'mon Wales, Ireland and of course, Italy.

woptb 8th Mar 2013 18:37

SitRep ... Phase 1 of pre match ops concluded this end. Fine selection of beer chilling nicely. Had to save the neck of young Master Coff yesterday ... had to go to the Post Office to pay extra postage as he had sent a large card ... Uni Studes these days ...

Game on ! :ok:

Wander00 10th Mar 2013 15:25

Does Post 15 imply that young CS, a university stude, remembered Mother's Day without prompting - well done that young man

CoffmanStarter 10th Mar 2013 15:50

Correct W00 ... But he should have put a Large Letter Stamp on it ! Dad saved the day with £1.09 :ok:

Wander00 10th Mar 2013 16:07

C - it is the thought that counts - mine needed a reminder!

CoffmanStarter 10th Mar 2013 16:32

Not wanting to make anyone jealous ... but Mrs Coff is now serving pan seared scallops during the 2nd Half ! Simply outstanding Mrs C :D

CoffmanStarter 10th Mar 2013 16:48

We'll take the win at 18 to 11 ... but we should have had more points in the board :{

Game on next week against the Leeks :ok:

BEagle 10th Mar 2013 16:49

Do calm down dear, it's only a game......

Sport Prevention Officer, eh, BEags?

langleybaston 10th Mar 2013 17:18

The RAF Finningley Open Day temporary telephone directory in the 1970s didn't have a SPO, but it did have an

Officer i/c Temporary Erections.

Wish I had photocopied it.

Scruffy win today, Mrs LB underimpressed, despite copious libations before and during.

CoffmanStarter 10th Mar 2013 17:23

LB ... Did you notice the Pilot on pitch flag duty at the start ?

langleybaston 10th Mar 2013 18:00

I did not, busy pouring the Mother a Stella! Pray enlighten me!

Ken Scott 10th Mar 2013 18:08

Do calm down dear, it's only a game......
Beags, as the old expression has it,

'It's not a matter of life & death, it's much more important than that!'

CoffmanStarter 10th Mar 2013 18:48

LB ... Just before the National Anthems ... the shot of the young children wearing their new rugby shirts ... then there was a cut to a view with said uniformed Pilot kneeling at the foot of the centre shirt flag festooned on the pitch. I'll try and do a screen grab tomorrow :ok:

Coff.

Milo Minderbinder 10th Mar 2013 19:05

Am busy today, mailing those small packs of paper tissues to my English pals, so that they are well equipped to cry their eyes out (again) in Cardiff. Come on Wales, all we Celts are with you!

langleybaston 11th Mar 2013 16:20

CS: thank you for screen grab but I find my attention wandering to the singer, and I cannot for the life of me understand why.

I think I will go and stand barefoot on a cold surface, as Baden-Powell advised.

Thanks for that link Sidevalve, works a treat and no faffing with techy stuff.

just another jocky 11th Mar 2013 17:24

England were woeful in stark contrast to their last 3 matches, yet they still beat an upbeat and developing Italian side. This will hopefully act as a stark reminder that they cannot assume tries will come to them and actually have to work for them. This result could act as a very useful kick up the 'r'se.

England will win on Saturday. :ok:

Fox3WheresMyBanana 11th Mar 2013 18:28

Milo, Sidevalve - many thanks for the links!

Pity only the Ireland-France game was worth watching!
