Same video problem here, BEagle (Mac/Safari, auto-updater). |
Windows 10 with Edge for me, and it is fine.
|
MacBookPro, El Capitan 10.11.6, Firefox 47.0, just updated to 48.0, works fine on both versions
Looking forward to seeing it fly. airsound |
Flagged on BEagle's other thread.
Now, on MilAvn 2, we have extensive coverage of the Olympics. Here you can continue discussing balloon shaped things ;) |
Apparently it was supposed to have flown earlier on at dinner time - according to their twitter feed but due to a bit of ill wind, might not happen for a few days
cheers |
Wouldn't it have been rather dark at that time of day for a first flight ?
|
Never seen a thread so full of NIMBYs before. But at least their old and will disappear soon enough.
|
Taking off right now.
It's being live streamed on Facebook and other places. |

Blast, was just coming up from a funeral of a close friends parent in London, decided to take the A10 scenic route opposed to M25 and M11. I had seen on my FB feed on leaving the wake - that it was being prepped.
How long did the flight take and what route ? If I had headed overtowards the A1 would I have seen it from a distance? I take it that next to the camera crews, the crowd gathered at the fence were selected members of the Airlander Club? I hope they will continue to fly it again this week.... cheers |
Chopper2004,
The "other" enclosure was our families. We were short of day-time so it was one RH circuit, take-off was south easterly. It was a good day for flying, as I walked down the perimeter track to my station I saw what I am pretty sure was the Lysander in the circuit at Old Warden. If I believed in omens, that was a good one. Post-flight the non-handling pilot reported that the local roads were jammed. This was my second first flight as a team member in 13 months. I love my job. Cheers Joe |

I love that middle link of yours, thank you. 40 years ago I was that small child and so I suspect were a lot of the rest of us at HAV. |

t43562,
More good links, thanks. The air-to-air is not from a UAV, it's from a R44 with a real pilot and a real camera operator. They were working for Dean Arnett who is producing the official video history. I ordered mine months ago! deanarnett.com ? The Story of Airlander Cardington happens to be inside a small danger area, D206, which is active H24 Monday to Friday so they (and we) need permission to operate in it. Cheers Joe |
If they're looking to produce 10 a year by 2021 (as per BBC). Where are they going to do this? That's going to be quite some factory!
