Same video problem here, BEagle (Mac/Safari, auto-updater).
Ditto the black bar - iMac, El Capitan 10.11.6, Chrome. Any Mac users care to comment in the problem thread started by BEags?

Windows 10 with Edge for me, and it is fine.

airsound 13th Aug 2016 11:14

MacBookPro, El Capitan 10.11.6, Firefox 47.0, just updated to 48.0, works fine on both versions

Looking forward to seeing it fly.

Flagged on BEagle's other thread.

Now, on MilAvn 2, we have extensive coverage of the Olympics.

Here you can continue discussing balloon shaped things ;)

Apparently it was supposed to have flown earlier on at dinner time - according to their twitter feed but due to a bit of ill wind, might not happen for a few days

cheers

BEagle 14th Aug 2016 21:38

Wouldn't it have been rather dark at that time of day for a first flight ?

Rigga 14th Aug 2016 22:14

Never seen a thread so full of NIMBYs before. But at least their old and will disappear soon enough.

Sky Sports 17th Aug 2016 18:27

Taking off right now.
It's being live streamed on Facebook and other places.

Blast, was just coming up from a funeral of a close friends parent in London, decided to take the A10 scenic route opposed to M25 and M11. I had seen on my FB feed on leaving the wake - that it was being prepped.

How long did the flight take and what route ? If I had headed overtowards the A1 would I have seen it from a distance? I take it that next to the camera crews, the crowd gathered at the fence were selected members of the Airlander Club?

I hope they will continue to fly it again this week....

cheers

Chopper2004,

The "other" enclosure was our families.

We were short of day-time so it was one RH circuit, take-off was south easterly.

It was a good day for flying, as I walked down the perimeter track to my station I saw what I am pretty sure was the Lysander in the circuit at Old Warden. If I believed in omens, that was a good one.

Post-flight the non-handling pilot reported that the local roads were jammed.

This was my second first flight as a team member in 13 months. I love my job.

Cheers
Joe

I love that middle link of yours, thank you. 40 years ago I was that small child and so I suspect were a lot of the rest of us at HAV.

I was hoping someone would understand why I put it there :-) Yay.

Here is an HAV-supplied aerial view:

t43562,

More good links, thanks.

The air-to-air is not from a UAV, it's from a R44 with a real pilot and a real camera operator. They were working for Dean Arnett who is producing the official video history. I ordered mine months ago!

deanarnett.com ? The Story of Airlander

Cardington happens to be inside a small danger area, D206, which is active H24 Monday to Friday so they (and we) need permission to operate in it.

Cheers

If they're looking to produce 10 a year by 2021 (as per BBC). Where are they going to do this? That's going to be quite some factory!
