I can't wait until they produce a V-Force Cold War one. Heat and light your house in one flash.
  • The tree, the planes, the buildings and the people are all sculpturally handcrafted in three dimensions and meticulously painted by hand. This individual attention means that no two trees are exactly alike, making each a unique one of a kind.
  • A replica model of a Vulcan actually ‘flies’ around the top of the tree
  • At the flick of a switch, the star at the top of the tree and the buildings in the branches illuminate, bringing your tree to life with a warm, festive glow. A millisecond later the whole will become incandescent and you will bask in rapturous warmth as a new sun is born.
  • Each illuminated Christmas tree sculpture is an exclusive edition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
  • Your tree will arrive complete with an AC adaptor for illumination. You can also power the Vulcan and tree lights with three ‘AA’ batteries (not included)
  • Measures 13 inches (33cm) high

Romeo Oscar Golf 6th Oct 2008 12:58

Hey Wader,I want one. To whom and where do I send my money?:O

ShyTorque 6th Oct 2008 12:59

I noticed it's very much in an authentic RAF style i.e. batteries not included.

On_The_Top_Bunk 6th Oct 2008 13:31

Almost as nice as the clock.

I can't decide which to order...maybe both if I can stretch to it.

Oh dear just woken up.

Al R 6th Oct 2008 13:35

http://www.pistonheads.com/inc/images/cloud9.gif .. mmm, nice.

Shy torque, perhaps the clock is even more authentic? '4 moving planes'.

tubby linton 6th Oct 2008 13:39

They also do a cuckoo clock!

Mr C Hinecap 6th Oct 2008 13:41

Chaps - what a find! I can't thank you enough! I am sending a link to our PMC - currently trawling for Christmas Draw prizes. Imagine how lucky you would feel to win such a masterpiece!

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:06

"First-ever illuminated Christmas tree with flying Spitfire" ?? Surely not! Surely this can't be the first time anyone has ever thought of this natural combination? It certainly is a thing of beauty....

As an aside, one assumes this hideous piece of tat isn't endorsed by the RAF in any way, shape or form?

Mr C Hinecap 6th Oct 2008 14:11

StopStart, erm......................

Unmistakeable RAF motifs, precision-handcrafted RAF emblems and laurels and a classic glass dome add further touches of refinement to this regal first-of-a-kind design. Officially endorsed by the RAF – order today!
:ok:

Ewan Whosearmy 6th Oct 2008 14:20

SS

You can't use the words or the roundel in a commercial context without permission, nowadays.

So, someone in the RAF thought that they were a nice idea and that they convey the sense of excellence has so long been the preserve of the RAF. Presumably, he was a little distracted feeding his guide dog a biscuit at the time.

airborne_artist 6th Oct 2008 14:24

Presumably, he was a little distracted feeding his guide dog a biscuit at the time.
Or maybe he was offered a few to give to his "friends and family" :\

Ewan Whosearmy 6th Oct 2008 14:30

If true, AA, one can only assume that most of his friends and family are permanent residents of an old folk's home.

Speaking of which, I wonder what Beagle makes of them.

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:34

Dear RAF Corporate Affairs

You utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter utter pikies.

Seriously though, have you people no taste at all? Raising the profile of the RAF? I get the impression that if they could get the "RAF Logo" on a turd they'd market it.....

Brain Potter 6th Oct 2008 14:40

Newsflash: Mickey Mouse seen wearing RAF watch.

StopStart 6th Oct 2008 14:50

Get back to work Potter. Splitter.

Brain Potter 6th Oct 2008 14:54

Just checking that my tax-pounds are being used properly.

Gainesy 6th Oct 2008 15:53

Wouldn't a TriStar* with half the boxes & bits removed be a better example of an RAF Christmas Tree?:hmm:

* Other clapped-out AT types are available.

I think you'll find that's an example of an airbridge.

Pontius Navigator 6th Oct 2008 17:38

Remember the little marching soldier model - We Will Rock You?

How about a little leather jacketed CAS? Fly me to the Stars.:p

orca 6th Oct 2008 17:44

This is the first thing i have seen rival the "Elvis Presley Tutankhamum Dambusters Clock", which although an absolute masterpiece was 'marketted' by Viz. Seriously.....?

ShyTorque 6th Oct 2008 19:07

Shy torque, perhaps the clock is even more authentic? '4 moving planes'.
Al R, Oh yes, it's got four nice fighters going forwards then backwards, so realistic. I especially like that big four engined fighter at the back.

A real collector's item. Better rush out and order - strictly limited to only nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine of these ;)

wg13_dummy 6th Oct 2008 19:54

Outstanding!

-The Royal Air Force- sponsored by The Jeremy Kyle show, Argos, JJB Sport and Burberry.

Christ, that stuff makes the Franklin Mint tat look like high quality, tasteful pieces of antiquity.

knowitall 6th Oct 2008 20:04

My first thought was that Viz's new "Objet de tat" weren't nearly as funny as the old ones...........

i have searched for a photo of the Elvis Presley Tutenkhamen dambusters clock plate in all its glory, but to no avail

akula 6th Oct 2008 20:07

I do hope they have a suitable delivery option. What with the new uniform dictats they could be hand delivered in No 2HD individually.

ALWAYS assume NEVER check

TAC Queen 7th Oct 2008 07:38

Apparently the RAF is sponsoring Santa this year and he is changes some of the Reindeer names in support of the RAF Fleet. The will now be known as Vintage, Classic, U/S on Start and my personal favourite Knackered. Is it also rumoured that Santa will have to change into Blues before sliding down the chimney.
Also in a multi million pound deal Ascot ops will be designating and arranging his route for delivery and DISCOM will be arranging the types of presents. So expect bugger all down your flue sometime around July.
Happy Christmas or is that cancelled to raise morale and service identity. Apparently its someone who is very impotent’s number 1 priority.
Happy Easter to one and all and to a good night.
P.S
I know it’s supposed to be spelled that way.
I know my spelling and grammar is bad it’s because I can’t be bothered.

luoto 7th Oct 2008 07:51

Are these spoofs.... I hope our air force does not get ideas... Finnish Air defence sauna bucket maybe?

Pontius Navigator 7th Oct 2008 08:28

luoto, spoofs? Unfortunately not. Naff, 100%. I bet some little Chinese kid is wondering just wth he is doing painting something that he doesn't understand and getting sfa for it.

Just been to Delft where a hand painted Christmas plate costs hundreds of pounds. In Europe such a hand painted monstrositiy, if it was done and if it was priced correctly would be thousands.

The profit margin on these must be stupendous.

Silent Witness 7th Oct 2008 09:18

You must be joking?

Please tell me that these items are clever photoshop productions, and not real items. Please.

The Helpful Stacker 7th Oct 2008 09:28

You can also power the Vulcan and tree lights with three ‘AA’ batteries (not included)
I reckon there is gonna be a rush on '6135-99-1956708, Battery, DofQ XX' in the near future.;)

Wader2 7th Oct 2008 09:33

Sadly Bradford whatever sells a huge range of very cheap tat expensively. For almost £60 they sell a roller ball pen. It has a licensed artist's painting on it.

Viking direct sell similar pens for a couple of £2.

Someone is coining it in.

Silent Witness 7th Oct 2008 09:38

No Way!

I am currently hysterical with laughter, I just found the Bradford Productions Dawn Patrol Clock. They have to be having a laugh, surely?

monkeymanagement 7th Oct 2008 10:03

The tree was bad....but....

Hmmm, what a nice ring.

Say no more, just imagine waving goodbye to a loved one as your gleaming ring sparkles in the sunlight . . . . . .

The Real Slim Shady 7th Oct 2008 10:15

The clocks must be a wind up.

Is the ring one of these sex aids instead of Viagra?

It does have "Rise above the rest" engraved on the inside ;)

They can't be real - can they? They are a p*ss take - surely. Someone - please tell me :{:{

Silent Witness 7th Oct 2008 10:29

Best thread ever

I havent stopped laughing yet.

DummyRun 7th Oct 2008 10:56

I can't believe it's not on aarse yet but it's only a matter of time and then gentlemen, that's it, endex, 90 years building up habits whilst the other 2 services sat and waited, knowing that give us enough rope...... and we did it!!!
There will AAC Cols at this very moment argueing over Benson, Odiham and Lyneham whilst the Snr Service are all diverting sea jets to Yeovilton and phoning Pickfords from vass. There will be RAF Sqns receiving these at Christmas from the other services and i'm sure their regimental funds will only too happy to pay.

Whoever approved this must be vv fed up with the RAF or from the Luftwaffe, RN or AAC or UNBELIEVABLY STUPID and must be outed, named, shamed and then shot and then shot again:mad:

DummyRun of to get a light blue beret and L/Cpl tapes.......

Mr C Hinecap 7th Oct 2008 11:06

SHUT UP! I'm currently in negotiations with our PMC to get that EXACT clock as a prize for the Christmas Draw this year! If he reads this and you've blown it, I'll hunt you down :suspect:
