1.4G well said
:D

Ayla 13th Sep 2008 09:47

1.4g. Surely Chinook Crewman are serving aircrew!

goudie 13th Sep 2008 10:57

1.4 G

When did you first experience your inferiority complex?

Double Zero 13th Sep 2008 11:23

I'll get me coat then...

Well I'm not a pilot and not strictly military - just been involved with British ( & export ) flight testing airframes & weapons / fuel tanks, guidance systems etc; shall I clear off then ?

Watch out for PIL lasers, the next big threat I feel for all types - military & civil -with wings !

Then I dunno nothing, not a pilot, just had to recover to base when el glamourous piloto ( civil ) conked out on me, and spotted a few potentially nasty snags when with military Test Pilots...Anyone however skilled can miss the simplest thing on a bad day, and maybe even prats like me can be useful sometimes - I'd be happy to have a 'not a pilot but a bit involved' symbol.

Surprising that no one's said "I'm Sparticus" yet.:}

RODF3 13th Sep 2008 11:39

L23

what a c**p idea. Just because you are a pilot does not always make your opinion worth more than anyone else, or mean you are better informed.

I are one anyway!

Union Jack 13th Sep 2008 12:43

It was near 12pm and I was tired - that's my excuse anyway!

I truly sympathise Dino - I often feel like that just before lunch!:)

Jack

PS And even more so after lunch ....

1.4G, you forgot:
  • Arses who insist on calling the F35 'Dave'.
  • Anyone who uses the word 'plane' instead of 'aircraft' or 'aeroplane'
  • Those who think wearing sand coloured clothing makes them into SAS warriors
  • Technogeeks who know all about the latest arms salesmens' glossy lies
  • Apostrophe abusers
  • Those who cannot master a shift key
  • Etc etc!!

Oh and glad rag, it's 'Spartacus', incidentally - and I am not he!

You see the predominate people who post on here are
.... and a sprinkling of tw@ts like 1.4g.

Hmm.... as an ex-sqn ldr scribbly and now a pilot (albeit in the civvy world) I guess I'll have to create my very own forum so that I can talk to myself without upsetting the likes of Lossie.

US Herk 13th Sep 2008 18:06

Why yes, I am a zipper-suited sun god - he of the 3-foot zipper! I am perfect & never make any mistakes either. :}

YouTube - I'm a Pilot

Need I say more? :E

That's the idea Dallas, but couldn't we take the button idea further? Everyone has their picture taken in their piggy jim jams, and the button is made from the photo...

...that way everyone would know to pay attention to the chap in the snug fitting wyncyette rompers in a tasteful shade of green with extra wide wings (for night time comfort), whilst pouring scorn on those who wear plain old groundcrew light blue ones.

Extra attention could be paid to those with excessive amounts of gold braid on the arms, chocolate medals on the chest, and asbestos seat.

I'd also appreciate a termination (as noted in another post) of the use of Dave/DaveB for the new aircraft, as I find it quite upsetting to log on to see thread titles that suggest I am experiencing problems I was previously unaware of.

(The REAL DaveB)

It might be a good time to cue the Kiwi "Jet Pilot" music video now to bring a bit of perspective to the discussion!:ok:

RAFEmployee 13th Sep 2008 23:55

I'm still employed on the helocopters if you can remember my name ;)

Airborne Aircrew 14th Sep 2008 03:23

I'm still employed on the helocopters if you can remember my name
That's a helacopter... Chinook crewmen serve - but are not necessarily aircrew, and some of the local ex-Rocks aren't that silent...:}

Oh, and Aidu and Seldom are Cherie Blair's love children... fathered by Minigun...:confused:

D O Guerrero 14th Sep 2008 06:50

This thread is starting to prove Lossie's point I fear....

Brian Abraham 14th Sep 2008 14:31

Anyone who uses the word 'plane' instead of 'aircraft' or 'aeroplane'
Beags, does the USN usage of the term "Plane Captain" pass muster? ;)

NutLoose 14th Sep 2008 15:21

Is it still holding true that VC10 Loadmasters are not allowed to put power on the Aircraft?

Arm out the window 14th Sep 2008 21:15

apostrophie's
Wot skool was that prize from, then?:}

FFP 14th Sep 2008 23:35

Is it still holding true that VC10 Loadmasters are not allowed to put power on the Aircraft?
If you could find one that knew how to........:E
