I don't want to get into the debate (arguement?) about who is more important than who - I thought there was a general realization that we all had something to offer these days.....

People leave for many reasons, but feeling undervalued/unappreciated is one, and it is usually about feelings/perceptions rather than reality. So if one section of the RAF feels especially aggrieved by some issue it can create a problem (whether that be CS Sqn Ldrs or junior ranks). As an aside - you don't make people feel valued by putting 200 of them in a room and getting a very senior officer to give them a 50 slide powerpoint presentation on how things are going to get better......

Anyway, the essence of my point 3, no doubt badly made, is that you have to be careful when addressing one inequality in a system that you don't end up creating an even worse problem elsewhere. Given the RAF/MOD track record in this area........

By the way, as officer aircrew myself my point 3 was never, 'what about me then', more a case of 'what about them'.......

Tone is often hard to read in text, please don't think I am having a go at you, or indeed anyone, in any of the above comments, I am not. I am just thinking aloud/outside the box/postulating on outcomes/consequences, etc ..........

No worries Biggus. I know what you mean. We are are equal, but some are more equal than others ;)
