QRA tanker up...
 

Heading north @ 5am today.

Wow! They actually have a QRA tanker? :ooh: Things sure have changed since the 90s... :}

It went out at around 3'ish and came back 8:30'ish.
bit of a normal affair now though isn't it? :hmm:

Pray tell....how do I distinguish between a 'QRA' tanker and a 'normal' one?

A normal one does not go flying at 3 am?

Tonka QRA 1 went up at leuchars at 3.40am, followed by QRA2 at 4.20 am, both arrived back at 7.30 am

2 x Tu-160 intercepted 70nm NW of Bardufoss by RNoAF F-16s this morning, according to media. (Their source CAOC3) The aircraft followed the Russians for 45 minutes before RTB.

Except when it is moonlighting as an AT asset :p

So only 10's/Timmy's on QRA fly at night/early hours?

Of course we had QRA tankers. When I was on tankers in the 70s it was called Operation Dragonfly (and it was a lot of fun).
