Ive seen many USAF aircraft embarked in Ships being refuelled. I've also witmessed USAF aircraft being refuelled by Army Bowsers. Im stumped as to why the statement would read that the RAF cannot refuel USAF aircraft.
Perhaps he meant to say that the RAF couldn't conduct AAR with USAF aircraft.... Its funny how the press seem to always get the wrong end of the stick. Col Collins is absolutely right. Remember, there was a reason the RAF were given JPA first, wasn't there !!!! |

Quite possibly.....But I wouldn't allow the TSW to get anywhere near an aircraft requiring refuelling...they'd miss it.

rafloo, I do hope you're joking.
Having been on Chinooks for nearly 10 years I only wish the rest of the British Military displayed the same 'can do' attitude and welcoming smiles in the middle of nowhere as the boys and girls from Stafford. I am very saddened by the tone of many of the posts on this thread. PPRUNE was once a place to gossip and to find out how best to screw the Service for allowances. It now appears to have become a site for outrageous posts designed to incite friction. We all know that the Army couldn't possibly take on the SH fleet nor the Navy our fixed wing assets; nor could the RAF succesfully manage a fleet of warships. Maybe PPRUNE could close it's military wing and the 3 Services could operate individual sites. The civvys must think we're idiots. |
Oh, I thought this was already the RAF forum.

Does it matter? They're not USAF. The reason that crabair can refuel them is that USN/USMC also use drogue. I think this was covered 12,452 posts ago, do keep up.

Can we help it if they retired the A-7..... :\

Yeah....some victory that.....kinda like the one down near New Orleans. Care to remind us how that one turned out? The Brits and Germans have a lot in common besides Kings and Queens....we beat you both twice each.:E Of course the assistance of the French came in handy, strange how short the memories are about your countries founding when it comes to throwing labels at the French for being surrender monkeys. |
To be fair Stacker the French are a bunch of surrender monkeys.
The so called” war of Independence” was won by Englishmen against Germans - so we won again! Ah no, wait, I'm getting a message......it was Mel Gibson again wasn't it |
