F4 TDPU - 11 Nov
The annual F4 TDPU will be on 11 Nov. in London.
Usual place, usual time! Any ex Phantom mates reading this who are not on my mailing list, e-mail me direct for full details. Nige Marks [email protected] |
Nige - I'll be there. For any F4 aviators who haven't been before - top day. Loads of mates from all eras - mudmoving & AD. All seem to merge by mid afternoon - see y'all there

It won't be hard to find, will it? Just go to the centre of town on the 11th and listen for the BLAH...
Alternatively, take an AI radar with you. Switch it on, they'll centre the spike and find you. More dated, but nevertheless still amusing, banter later. And when debriefing this attempt at wit, don't shout!:ok: Have a great Tactics Discussion chaps. |
An aircraft full of character flown by some great RAF characters performing it to its' limits in all the fighter/bomber/recce roles with great success.
Deserves to be a fun day - and the "blah" will be worth listening to - even for the WIWOLs. |
Anyone interested in an air-to-air mpg of the Queen's birthday flypast, 1992?
401Mb :uhoh: :uhoh: I don't know of anywhere that wiil host something that big. 5206 |

Alternatively simply wander around London and when you find that your SA starts being innexplicably drained....you're there! P.S. How many F4 mates does it take to change a light bulb? 100...... 1 to change the bulb and 99 to tell you how good the old one was. I never flew the F4 but I know all the stories... can I come? Taking cover........ |
anyone on 23 sqn stanley 1983
just interested if there is still people around from that time on f4s
i was there that day when one aircraft went into mt osborne ,strapped the crew in |
There are still F4 mates around from long before that unfortunate day - like the F4 they go on and on - and no doubt will at the F4 TDPU.
|

I was sent back down myself as replacement crew afetr the Mt Osbourne crash. Skid |
You could always start at The Cenotaph at 1100 hrs.

It's a fair cop, Widger. You've got to have character to fly an F4 off a carrier!
|
...and even more character to land back on!!
...and at night!! Never did any of that. Thank you, Lord! |

Now we are talking real aircraft and characters!
Rock on 892 wherever you are.... |
Navy, Air Force, USMC, USAF. USN and anyone else ever flown an F4 - All welcome Lord Moon on the Mall this Fri post remembering the fallen. Will be a fitting end to 11/11 - getting together with load of old mates and blahing about a great 'fighter'
|
I had the distinct pleasure of seeing some wonderful old buddies on Friday. Quite a few made the Cenotaph beforehand and stayed well into the evening when The Flag was ringing out loud and clear across Whitehall. Top event.
See you all next year.:ok: |
