Angel Who shut down the RNZAF

From a local source:

In a press release from the well respected free Plamerston North weekly gazette, independent journalist
G. IMFULUVIT, has revealed a plot devised by the pilots of the RNZAF to remove the core elements of the Air Attack Force and other essential air assets, which has subsequently enabled an opportunity for many RNZAF members to infiltrate foreign allied forces of first world nations.

This has allowed the deported aircrew to operate such types as Tornado F3's, Harriers (RN and RAF), Hawks, FA18's, F111's, PC9's, VC10's and Cessna 172's.

Intelligence experts believe it is a long term plan to remove these assets from the sovereign countries in what would be described as "The Greatest Plane Robbery" and to regroup the assets in the Bay Of Islands. (At a new, yet undisclosed secret air base).

Sources "embedded" with the NZ operatives would not reveal a time frame for the heist, but believe it will coincide with the loss of the Rugby World Cup and will be a last resort if food poisoning is not an option.

And apart from the fuel?

Apart from the Jet A1, I forgot what else I'm supposed to bring in the back..

Let's see now.... Spare engines and avionics, Armament, Armourers, US Gentex helmets, Pounds Sterling, Babcock contractors, recruitment stickers with the Eurofighter on them (to replace the RNZAF F-16 ones), new style Rebel Air Strike Squadron patches, a new runway for Ohakea, Bograt mountainbikes, Pianos, Fire Extinguishers and beer.

Any others needs/wants/desires?

Well, they've remembered to airbrush; but where are the crosshairs?

Amazing what a media makeover can do for a committed bulldyke bushpig who looks like the bride of Frankenstein.

Luckily for "her" husband, he's also gay, and won't ever have to worry about waking up next to that without the press makeup on.

There was no one sadder than I , nor more vociferous in the letter writing department, at the crazy decison to remove all of the teeth and a massive section of the technical infrastructure of my air force. It has gone gentlemen, and won't be coming back.

You must remember, however, that she has been a professional protester all of her life, so it was hardly a surprise she would take her axe to the RNZAF once she got into power.

As for her getting where she is, I have it on good authority [a JAFA!] that she was advised to get married by a well-known former uranium breathing prime minister who told her she would never make it as a single woman.

" Looks", he said," ain't everything"

Dykes and Dambusters

Yep, I'm sure we all know that it's gone for good. Long are the days of flying fast and low in the beautiful 'Gods Own' mountains.

Let's not bring up Uncle Helen (or my lunch) anymore. I'm sorry I did.

From what I believe, her 'husband' even lives on the South Island. I remember she scoffed and said something along the lines of "I hardly think that's necessary" when she was asked by a reporter if she was going to telephone the old dear on their wedding anniversary.

Putting a finger in that dyke aint gonna stop the flooding !!

Unhappy Leave her alone.....

Absolutely gobsmacked, you fellah's have really stepped over the mark. This thread was not designed to give you the opportunity to go in guns blazing at my Aunty Helen. You have compromised our friendship and understanding and basically written me out of the will !

A little maturity and forethought before you speak your words or I will never bother to post again.

PS I am her lovechild!

Aunty, Uncle or Your Daddy ??

Fox3 is obviously a 'special nephew'.

The relative distance between them becomes very close, especially when the toothed one dons a strap-on...

Oooh, I've gone too far now haven't I ?
Guess I'll never get that ATC clearance to descend direct during my Red Bull world record glide from FL300 overhead Karachi to Muscat with my Strap-On carbon fibre wings....

and speaking of the red bull wings record I heard on BBC radio today a journalist report that upon this mad man landing on the beaches of France, the French armed forces immediately surrendered and handed over the country.
I believe a set of these wings were offered to the NZ Pm for a new fighter wing but she thought they may have been considered to offensive to the island nation of Tavalu, who are believed to be confident in their ability to invade and defeat NZ.

Pilot Test Man's Motive Unclear
06/08/2003 05:04 PM
Newstalk ZB News

The motive driving a south Auckland man who is accused of passing himself off as a Saudi man in order to gain private and commercial pilot licences remains unclear.

A 27-year-old Otara man has appeared in the Tauranga District Court, charged with five counts of personation under the Crimes Act.

Police allege he was sitting the exams on behalf of a Saudi Arabian man.

His identity was suppressed and he was remanded on bail pending his next court appearance next month.

The New Zealand man was picked up after completing an exam at the Tauranga Aero Club last night.

Conducting examiner Mostyn Bowler says the man was sitting the third of five theory exams.

He believes the man came to Tauranga because there was more chance of being picked up for whatever he was involved in if he stayed in Auckland.

The Civil Aviation Authority rules out any suggestion of terrorist activity.

Spokesman Bill Sommer says security people are aware of the Saudi Arabian involvement but this is a case of someone sitting someone else's exams.

Devil The Ex RNZAF

Having served in the RNZAF as a JO in the 1980s (and subsequently transferred to head office - the RAF) I was shocked and saddened by the emasculation of the RNZAF by Messrs Clark & Co. SE Asia and the SW Pacific in particular are not nice, secure and friendly places and whereas small European countries have been encouraged to seek out niche military specialisms within the aegis of the NATO Alliance, NZ - outwith of such alliances - cannot afford such complacency.

However, defence, per se, is an increadibly expensive business - as a guide 2% of GDP should be spent on it - and the costs of providing a balanced air force has to be weighed against the threat. Pacific and Asian history of the last 10 years demonstrates that there are 'clear and present dangers to national security and national interests' and offensive capability is needed. Although Australia is militarily able and unilateral military action by NZ is unlikely, NZ has to demonstrate 'capability building' both in military and political terms. Sending teams of sappers to ISAF and Iraq to carry out 'soft security' missions (and no disrespect to the individuals involved in a dangerous and awful business) is not enough. No amount of 'soft security' has ever defeated tyrants or tyranny (oh, you mean, like appeasement?); sometimes power projection is needed, and aircraft with weapons is a quick (and in diplomatic terms, cheap) way of doing this.

I despair of still-serving NZ colleagues who are committed to their work but now have one hand tied behind their backs. Unfortunately, I must agree with earlier correspondents - what is lost is gone forever.

Per Ardua

Crash - your sentiments are certainly shared by many.

Its worth noting that the limited remaining RNZAF assets are currently providing very credible representation throughout the Gulf and Afghanistan regions with the ongoing war against terrorism.

The NZ government should follow the ADF initiative in PR campaigns with all the latest ops and peacetime activities being well represented on the ADF web site and heavy media coverage. All of the ops in Timor, Iraq , Afghanistan and beyond are well represented there and certainly gives the troops the warm and fluffies knowing they are finally getting some recognition for their efforts, which has distinctly lacked in the past.

fish Kiwi Kontribution

It never ceases to amaze me where I run in to NZers in the course of my job as a pol/mil analyst for a NGO. Kiwis have an enormous sense of the need to help and contribute in the international areana, and are jolly useful peole to have around. Regrettfully, the international image of NZ has suffered by the diminution of the RNZAF; no end of people I encounter (on learning that I am/was a Kiwi) express their amazement and commiserations at the actions of the GoNZ. In spite of both land and maritime forces still having teeth, the damage inflicted on the RNZAF has radiated into diplomatic circles.

Angry You just can't tell a woman.

Crash,

We tried to tell Helen and Co all this when she was trying to pull the plug, but she wouldn't listen. We had our mouths taped shut, and anybody who tried otherwise was stomped on. Well, she won that fight under those rules, and will now suffer for it. As we all know, the bad guys don't play by the rules.

when the RAN lost VF-805 sqn and VC 724Sqn, I knew we would never see Aussie navy insignia on fast jets again. Once you lose it, its too hard to justify the start up costs. Kiwi fast jets, RIP.

When the Govt axed the ACF the decision was made to keep some A4s flying and all the Macchis serviceable to allow them to be flown for prospective buyers.
The plan was for 18 months.......and ended in June 2003.

During this time there were 2 offers for the A4 and 1 potential offer for the Macchi. All were turned down by the Govt.

Now the budget has been stretched to keep the aircraft flying for yet another 12 months. (The RNZAF has even enlisted an ex-A4 pilot - now university student - to come back and fly the A4 part-time........ nice one 'undies')

Whens the next election due? I wouldnt be overly optimistic that the A4s would ever see service again but with the Macchi still state of the art (for fighter leading in training) I wouldnt say ALL hopes are lost just yet!

Any contract work to things up and running again....... I'll come back on my days off! (But I wont hold my breath!)

Meantime keep you 75SQN patches, add a '7' in vivid marker and - batta boom - you have a 757 patch! Ake Ake Kia Kaha

Regeneration of the RNZAF

What is HM Loyal Opposition doing in NZ about the former RNZAF? I am no longer au fait with the minutiae of NZ politics and the visibility of defence issues. I'd be interested in hearing views.

I did note - today 11 Sep 03 - that the US regards the Asia Pacific Region the 'Second Front in the Global War on Terror'. I hope politicians - of all parties - listen/read the BBC, and take note of the lengthing Arc of Crisis. New Zealand, a country that prides itself as being part of the Global Village, cannot isolate itself from the more squeamish aspects of being a responsible state with strong western values, located by an accident of geography in the SW Pacific. As I said in an earlier post, post-bellum participation is all very well, but imagine if the same philosophy was applied to fire precautions!
