Face Lift 47 Sqn Bar
To all zappers around the world, please could you send us one of your Sqn zaps to put up behind our bar as it looks old and tiresome and needs some sparkle put into it.

Why don't you organize a fly in by hosting some form of jointry purply post Iraq party and get all the sqns down and then you can fill your bar with zaps to your hearts content by doing absolutely nothing.
The MATLOs are particulary good at decorating peoples bars for them.

Beer Call to mark the opening
The boss Has Agreed that a beer call to mark the opening of the new 47sqn bar will be held once all the works finished. Date yet to be agreed but most likley around the end of june. if youd like to come just turn up bring a zap and book in to the mess..

ukcds - any chance of 47 sqn maybe attending my event at Abingdon on 2 MAY 2004 - 47 sqn used to be based there from 1953 to 1967 with Hastings / Beverely aircraft.
My aim is to get some units that still exist to have " RAF Abingdon past units " attend.
My event is a sort of Country Fayre with a mini Airshow & Fly In of civvy & Mil / ex Mil types - good to keep aviation alive here (used by 612 VGS Motorgliders at weekends and Merlin/Pumas during week at times.
So about time Herks started using the place again for exercises!)
I will ask Participation committee for a Herk for static & if you have a stand to sell 47sqn memorabilia, bring it along.
Do you fly the J model now??

Sounds like what is really needed is to invite everyone to a post Telic Lyneham hangar party. You must have a few old RAFG/2ATAF boys kicking around there who can fill you in on the format. Sure someone could rustle up a couple of pianos.

the post post op telic party( for those of you who missed the last one)
The boss has decided that the party to open the new (and very nice) 47 Sqn bar will be on Thursday 17th July 2003 from 5 pm. He would like to invite all zappers to come, drink and be merry, but not to merry (as we had to fix 70sqns fence last time). So dust off those pink chits, call it Sqn trg and come and join the fun.
