Is there anyone out there who could point me in the right direction with regards to leaving her Majestys finest and joining the Kiwis as an ALM, for instance what is the retirement age for ALMS?

Your first move should be to contact the office of the Defence Attache in London. They should be able to give you all the gen you need and should give a pretty quick answer if they are recruiting ALM's or not. If it is not succesful try getting down there doing another job. I don't know if you have been but it really is spectacular(and only £1.00 a pint-the wages are low though). best of luck.
