I havent a clue what the price is now but I bought my copy in 1994. {had to go hunt it out and watch it again after BEAGLE's little monologue }

OK, so jiggling and juggling apart, what was she like to fly:
1. in transit
2. low level
Could pax ever be flown or was it 2 men at all times. ie could you ever give a jolly in a bucc?
What were its foibles, vices, plus points?
How did it compare to other a/c of the era/time?
Had so much fun reading the first few pages Beagle, I feel that I just HAVE to expand this thread!!

Bucc at low level..
I grew up in a South Wales valley. As a kid I used to love watching fighters and attack aircraft scream along at 200 ft (they would be shot now of course).
My favourite memory was watching Buccs and Vulcans scream in at well under 200ft on thier way up to Brecon. I know they were to low as my favourite spot to hang around was 220ft AGL and I used to look down on them as they sped past.
Has anyone got any in cockpit shots of a low level sortie, or better still photos of the Buccs at their various Red Flag outings?
If so any chance they could provide a link?

Somebody once posted part of a great article about the Buck during the early days of Red Flag, don't recal if it was on this site or another now.
Some news film crew were there at the time, the Americans were so impressed with the buck coming in so low the missile crews were screaming it on.
Any body remember that ?.

BEagle,
Of course, that was the theory of medium toss. Of course, if you happened to be doing a fire power demo off the Gulf, on the way home to pay off, and had a variety of stores (to save offloading back at Plymouth), and just happened to select a retarded 500lb, then tried a medium toss from just off the port quarter of Eagle...
The resulting explosion, fairly close to the bows, did shake the ship about a bit
Other memories (as an onlooker, of course):
The TP from Boscombe, doing Martel trials, landing in conditions that wiser men had declined, landed so heavily that he managed to scrape the bottom of the main gear doors on the deck. With no tyres on the rims, and the oleos fully deflated, the gear doors should normally stand about an inch clear.
The 800NAS Bucc driver who came in low enough past Eagle, that he pulled up from underneath the angle. Duty tanker for the next exercise, and he never returned the colour slide that I took of the pass
Legions of stories about Red Flag, but the one I rather liked was the Vulcan that was eventually caught going in low level. The Buccaneers flying under the Vulcan, however, got through!
Damien Bourke has a terrific collection of pictures and stories, worth a visit to his site. http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/contents.html , and even more at Andrew Brookes' site at http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/andrewbrooks1/
Here's another to show the Bucc, returning to Ark

Damien..
Yes I know about the SA bucc fligfhts.
These days if you are the right person in the right place at the right time it is possible to fly in operational military a/c without dual control ie Tornado etc as "talking ballast"as my mate called it.
You basically take the nav's seat.
Civs can and have also flown in Hawks, Jags, tucs, harriers, canberra, etc
What I wanted to know was , in the "good ol' days" did jollies take place in Buccs?
I'm sure the Admiral of the fleet or even some hack from fleet street must have had the priviledge at some time.
