Come on now chaps! Surely you have realised by now that people's promotion depends on outstandingly good ideas such as changing the colour of gloves.

Things MUST be reinvented on a regular basis for any progress to be made at all.

Don't worry, your green flying gloves will come round again one day. You might have retired by then, but hey, it could be worse. You might have had to wear those British Rail porters No 2 outfits we had in the 1970s.

Or those cloth inner helmets and PNGs. Lovely. And bring back puttees, that's what I say.

Wot, only 13,000 pairs a year

Where are the other 39,000 members of the Air Farce getting theirs from then?

Chaps,

I've been "Out Of The Ring", for 3 yrs. Black gloves...Hmmmm Nice, But what else has changed?? I've heard some scary rumours about "wooly pullies" that make me think I'll be out of vogue!

Please advise

Regards,

CSAS

I was once involved in one of those mtgs "to cut costs and get better flying kit"....the answer was simple. Stop doing our own R&D and just buy the US kit....overalls, gloves, boots et al.

Needless to say to many of their lordships from the bright idea brigade would have been out of jobs...so commonsense was put aside.

Meantime everyone in Bos was 'buying' US overalls/gloves and 'aquiring' kiwi wet weather gear (great for snow boarding in bardufoss too!)

Black schmak.... its all about keeping paperwork circulating around HQ. After all change is a sign of progress? (Is it OC or CO this week?)

Glad I left..... although now i have to decide what to wear to work!
